This is my 1st read and review for this author and this is a fantastic novella and a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to see what this author brings out next. Lisa is going home her mother is dying but she doesn’t really care, Lisa has always wondered about the house over the road but she was forbidden to go over there as a child and now it’s up for sale. Lisa knew that an old woman lived there and now that it’s up for sale she can’t help her curiosity, she meets a young woman who tells her that she can go and look over the property only at night which has Lisa more than intrigued. What secrets does this house hold and why can she only see the house at night?, well I’m not going to tell you so if you want to know the secrets then you will have to get this book. This story blew me away I saw some things coming but not others, it’s a dark story but a fantastic one and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
I received a copy of this book from Booksprout and I voluntarily leave my review.

Lisa is in a bad place - no job, and soon to be homeless - so she goes home to visit her dying mother. She is intrigued by the garden at the house across the road - it is on the market, and she is curious. What secrets does it hold? And what does the owner have to do with her brother's death years ago? A story of magic and intrigue - loved it!

A very intriguing mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat till the end. Not the usual type of book I have read from this author and not really something I would like to read again not my happy ever after type of book. But if you are into mysteries this is a very well written book that will keep you wondering until the end.

Sadly, I didn't enjoy this book. Rather dark and an unhappy read. Love the Wonky Inn books, have read them all so far and look forward to book 7. Thoroughly recommend The Crone too.

A strange garden that only opens at midnight. Spine tingling, nerve racking , tension until the last page. A real page turner. I couldn’t put it down. The ending is totally unexpected. A cracking good read from a talented author.
