I have read every one of the Decker/Lazarus books, in order, and this is the first one that I hated and couldn't finish. Obviously Faye Kellerman is a good writer if I liked her first 16 books but this one was not up to her usual standards. It was so boring that I didn't finish it. In fact, I'm going to take a break and read books by other authors before I buy Book No. 18 in this series.
Decker and his team were working on trying to connect 2 similar murders. There were so many characters who were referred to at times by their first names, at others by their last names that I didn't know who they were most of the time. The stories didn't hang together and it was hard to know which character was part of which crime. I gave up after reading 70% of the book because it was just too convoluted and didn't go anywhere at all. If this is your first Becker/Lazarus book, don't waste your money. Start with book one and go forward from there.
