"A fun sweet romance to curl in a chair with and get lost in." -- Books Are Love

Kane's a country singer who's tangled with too many deceitful women. He's learned his lesson: girls are for flirting and fun; emotions are for his music. But after spending a night with an earnest woman unlike any he's known, he can't force her out of his mind. So he goes in search of the woman he knows only as "Elle."

On her last night in Nashville, the staunchly pragmatic Sabella found herself in a situation more suited to a romance novel than reality. Swept away, she ignored her rigidly self-imposed rules, succumbing to the fantasy just this once. But she knows real-world relationships have nothing in common with their fictionalized portrayals. When Kane unexpectedly shows up at her Portland apartment, she must choose between the practical truths she has learned and the desire for a passionate love she has struggled to suppress.

Despite the distance, Kane's tour schedule, and their meddling friends, both are drawn to the chance for a romance neither quite believes is possible.

I'm only a few chapters in, and I'm already SO IN LOVE with Sabella and Kane. Aria's books are always page-turners, and this one is no exception!

UPDATE: I just read the entire book in 2 days and absolutely loved it! I (literally) couldn't wait to find out what would happen with Sabella and Kane. Obviously, since it's romance, I knew there would be a happy ending, but I wasn't sure how they'd get there. And then the side plot with Gina... I was hooked from the start, but luckily the book was solid all the way through, and the ending was completely and satisfyingly perfect. :)

Mending Heartstrings is a sweet and refreshing romance. A delightful and quick read that follows the budding relationship of a writer from Portland, Sabella, and a country singer on the road, Kane.

Coming from such different backgrounds, they are forced to overcome many obstacles in order to even begin a relationship. But once Sabella joins Kane on the road their hearts begin to open up. The book deals with some pretty tough issues through Sabella's best friend, Gina, but does so with grace and respect. A sobering reminder that the world keeps spinning around the characters romance. Yet the trials only make their love that much more precious.

3.0 out of 5 stars An engaging story that needs more of some things and less of others 24 May 2016
By Red Sapphire - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I am divided concerning this story. I liked Kane and Bella as a couple very much. I like the way the writer allowed their relationship to realistically grow. The story is told in both POV, which always a plus when a romance is written in third person, and the sex scenes are steamy yet tastefully done. What in most books is fully described is left to the reader's imagination in this one. But I definitely felt the chemistry between these two, and their desire to want to make their relationship work was nicely conveyed, especially on his part.

I had trouble with some of the conflicts not feeling deep enough to be real issues. Also at times, the story dragged for me because of too much description or details of minor happenings. Finally, the ending didn't bring me the kind of closure I would have liked. The ending is divided between an HEA and HFN and felt too incomplete for me.

Mending Heartstrings By Aria Glazki
Kane is in Nashville and plays guitar. His show was off that night as he noticed jsut one woman watching him, others were all about their own conversations.
He hopes the flirting helps him get back on track. Elle was there to find out why the locals liked this place so much. It's karaoke night and he calls her onto the stage to sing while he strums.
Sabella was up to it, she'd never see the people again in her life as she was heading home tomorrow afternoon. Weeks later she recalls the night he kissed her...he tracks her down and he just shows up one day...
Found Powell's bookstore city of books fascinating and have never been there. Also fascinated with the band he wears from his ancestor Indian grandfather. Like the idea of their outings.
Conversations get heated and he thinks she's using him for a story she's writing. They don't talk to one another after that til he leaves. She confides in her friend Gina and she commiserates with her and getting a new hairdo.
She focuses on work things and tries to forget about him....she figures out what happened with the things he sends her. She wonders if things are just temporary and if he or she will move on as they are not together much, as he travels for work.
Things get a bit scary as they discuss how to get rid of the man who's beating her up and ruling what she does and think, etc. You wonder how the long distance relationship will work and if it will last. Love the travel and new places to explore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be Still My Heart 25 February 2016
By Jessica - Published on Amazon.com

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this one bit. In fact, I think I'm in love with Mending Heartstrings. Like, legit love. I knew once I had seen the blurb that this story would be the one for me. Don't ask me how I know, I just do. From the very first page, I melted. Kane didn't really do anything special, other than the fact he's a musician and I have a thing for those... Not that I've actually ever dated one, but you get the gist.

From that first meeting between Kane and Elle, hell, there was NO going back. They instantly had that click; that instant attraction. It wasn't like some books where they want to jump in the sack right away. It was more real than anything. These two beautiful people want nothing more to be together but life and certain feelings may end up keeping them apart. What's stopping them? Well, I guess right now, you want to know. Good! That means you can pick the book up and see for yourself how wonderful the story is.

Can the two overcome fears to be together?

Kane and Elle are a great example of love and what love means. It isn't always easy, but it's so worth it. I absolutely adored the book's depth; it was at times light and other times serious. I think a good balance in books is always good to have. The only problem I would have with the book was the fact that it seemed a little bit too rushed in the end for me. Other than that, I think it was faultless. Do I want more Kane and Elle? Hell yes, I do! I think readers will enjoy this heartfelt story full of hope, music, and two loving characters that don't give up.
