This was my first time of doing colour therapy. I brought 3 books. This is best one, best ever.
The paper is amazingly high quality . The pages are perforated. Only 1 pattern pa page. So easy to take out the page and use a hard service base. The pictures are beautiful. I am hooked on colouring in this book like reading a good book. The pencils used are varied cheap ones at first . However just got bic contrast set and they amazing. I'm hoping to save to buy the 43 set of black wood pencils by feely. There expensive but I think there worth it for such a high quality book. This book has helped me with my stress too, being a full time carer to my husband and I really needed something like this to calm me and help me to sleep. I highly recomend this book. I intend on seeing if anymore by this artist. I love it

Fantastic colouring book - I love it!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 December 2015Verified Purchase
The Menagerie is an amazing colouring book. The pages are slightly larger and thicker than other books I have coloured so far. Each page is single sided, which is brilliant as you don't need to worry about any bleed through. And every page is perforated near the book spine, so you can easily tear them out and display them without ruining the book.
As expected, the pictures are all of animals, from a stag and a giraffe to a red panda and a zebra. They are in gorgeous detail, but you can choose whether to colour in every little space or just colour in larger areas.
Most have backgrounds already printed on them but you can always add your own or colour these in yourself.
I used Faber-Castell Polycromos pencils (a range of just 24 goes a long way!) to colour some larger areas to create more impact.
Then I used a mixture of Staedtler triplus colour pens, Staedtler Fineliners and Stabilo point88 pen for another picture - none of which bled through.
The Menagerie will delight people of all ages. My youngest son (age 12) 'stole' one of my pages (the llama) to colour - although I have now bought him his own copy of the book.

A lovely colouring book for both adults and older children. Big pages and bigger drawings mean this is not as intricate as some 'adult' colouring books. The drawings are very accurate to the animals they are intended to be. Lots of patterns allow for as much or as little detail as you wish.
The only downside is for people like me who like to colour the animals in realistic colours ... a lot of the animals are black and white or just brown ... which doesn't make for very interesting colouring haha! I do accept however that that is my personal preference to colour them lifelike colours :)

Intricate images of various animals to colour. The book is larger than the bestsellers which makes the detail easier to manage. The pages are also perforated to allow easy removal of completed images if you want to. The images are single sided and therefore allowing for colour materials of your choice as bleed through is not an issue. There is a list of all the animals features at the beginning of the book as well if you are unsure. The images of the animals themselves are amazingly detailed
Allowing for you to really create a colourful image or even colour multiple parts the same colour. I was not 100% when I first started colouring about this book it felt overwhelming but after colouring for a while I realised the potential to create amazing images so jumped in a brought it when Amazon had it at a reduced price.

Excellent value, if you like lots of detail.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 April 2016Verified Purchase
I've updated my original review to 4 stars. Originally I thought this was a little too detailed for me. But I have since coloured in a couple of the pictures and found it very satisfying, even though it took me ages as the pages are quite big. It's fantastic value at the current price of £3.99 on Amazon; the paper is of good quality and the pictures are on one side of the page only, with perforations should you wish to tear them out. I've decided I prefer colouring animals and birds to abstract patterns, mandalas etc and so this fits the bill nicely. Hours and hours of colouring in. Recommended as long as you are happy with lots of detail and have lots of patience.
