Product Description

To Whom It May Concern,
This book was written for you.
It’s our story. Anson’s and mine.
You see, we met when we were five.
I moved in next door. He wrote me a letter…
Asking me to leave.
I couldn’t.
Through notes on a page, Anson became my best friend.
We’ve spent almost our entire lives loving each other.
We never said the words.
But now… Now he’s said it.
No more secrets.
No more lies.
Can forgiveness be given?
I need your help, I need your advice.
Read our story.
Lyrik Everly

This was a different style of writing that I first wondered if it was for me. However as the story progressed I understood where it was going. It is very fast paced with very little detail but enough for a story. You really didn't have any time to digest it. So in a sense the author made it work.

The letters were also a nice touch, some being kind of cute when they were kids. All I can say this is a bit different, I didn't dislike it but I still wonder if it would loose its impact if more was elaborated on.

Lyrik had little hope in the world & Anson knew there were issues because of their backgrounds. Did he really need not to include her until he was "ready"? I'm not so sure about that.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Musical loving Stars!!!! 31 March 2017

Melody of Us was an amazing and romantic story!! Is about two person Lyrik and Anson who feel in love with each other since they were children. This book started in the present and is wonderful written in the past!!! I love that the author started the story when they were children and "hate each other" but after some time they became best friends and they start to grown up the feelings are strong and the things change!... Lyrik is a girl who has really difficult family problem, her parents doesn't care about her, so she feels really alone in the world until Aston shows in her life... Aston is a boy who family is rich so his parents have a life plan for him, but he doesn't want to follow because he has a dream and he will make that dream come true.

We can see how the characters start to changes in the time, I mean Lyrik is no more just a girl she is a strong woman who has to work hard to accomplish her goals, like to be a nurse! Meanwhile she is working for her dream, Aston is doing the same for his dream, and with distance and bad communication they start to break away, so they thought that everything between them is lost, and in this moment Aston really really notice that he always had been in love with her, I mean he always had the feelings and all but he always was pretty sure that they wil always be together, but in a moment he doesn't feel so sure anymore about it.

So through their story we will know everything they had to pass in their life and in the end we wil know is they will finally have their happy ending.

I will be honest this is my first book from this author but definitely won't be the last one! because I really enjoyed the whole story and her words! So congrats A.L. Wood for this amazing story! Can't wait to read your next book!

What an absolutely beautiful story! OMG I truly LOVED Lyrik and Anson's journey from young children into adulthood.
I think this is the first story I've ever read by AL Wood and let me tell you, she delivers! I don't want to give any spoilers away so I'll be general.
I personally so connected in many ways with Lyrik. Reading their journey brought back so many sweet memories from my own life that I'd completely forgotten about. It made me smile and still does.
Yes there were sad, heart breaking moments in the story but how this author wrote them as well as the story in its entirety blew me away. It was so realistic and written from the author's heart. I flipping loved the letters between Anson and Lyrik throughout the story. I wish I had them in my possession because they touched me.
There was perfect dialogue and description that you could visualize it all.
#JustReadIt is a perfect summary for this story. I very highly recommend. LOVED. LOVED. LOVED!

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy, angsty and emotional 31 March 2017

Melody of Us by A.L. Wood had everything I love in a book. First and had all the feels. At some points frustrating the heck out of me, at other points making me hate and love both Lyrik and Anson. We hear (or read the letters) from their courtship (or friendship as the case may be) from the ripe old age of 5 when they just hated each other. As they got older, their relationship became murky while one loves the other no longer does and vice versa. Will these two find their happily ever after? I laughed, I ugly cried and smile. Plenty of steam and just enough angst to keep you invested

1.0 out of 5 stars Wanted to love this.... 4 April 2017

I was in pins and needles through the entire book. I am sorely disappointed that Anson walked all over Lyric over and over and all he did was ask her in a letter for another chance and she forgave him completely. Really? Ridiculous! He should have done way more and really proven his love. Actions speak louder than words and all He did was leave her time and time again. I never write reviews but this ending was so bad that I was mad enough to write this review. The ending was way too quick and wrapped up with No Real feelings to it. Its like the author was tired of writing and just wanted it to be done. One letter is all it took after being walked over for YEARS! That's pathetic!!!

A.L. Wood really knows how to write a fantastic book! Once I started, I didn't want to put it down until it got to emotional, I had to take a break. I finished this book at 1:30 am this morning, I couldn't leave it where I had left off. I HAD to finish! I woke up with red, swollen eyes but it was worth all the tears!

After everythin Lyrik and Anson have gone through, I'm glad they get what they really needed. I can't wait to see what Wood gives us in the future!!

You may need a box of tissues nearby, you will need them!
