You know you're enjoying a book too much when you just want to slap some sense into the female character, Santana! Seriously if she has spent the last 4 years approximately involved in the biker world, and she has been instrumental in getting the President of a rival MC Club put in jail then hell yeah your life is in danger! Good book, well written, poor Maddox and Santana go through a lot to get their HEA. Best read in order as part of the series.
The second book in the Jokers Wrath MC book. I have said it before and I will say it again.....this woman knows how to write MC books. I love the world that she creates, not too over the top, just enough romance, sexy and bad boys!!!
Maddox is the president of the Jokers Wrath MC and he is the epitome of hotness, he is rough, demanding, tough, sexy as hell and he loves Santana with a passion that people write home about. Santana is an ex-junkie who Maddox rescued literally off the streets. Santana is still an innocent woman despite what she went though as a child and teenager, she knows that she has some type of feeling for Maddox, but she does not know what the feeling it, or why she feels this for the man who saved her life. With both of them not willing to admit their feelings for each other, it is just a storm brewing and waiting to erupt.
Santana just wants a normal life, she has endured so much, abuse, drug addiction , the loss of her sister and her parents. The MC really saved her life and they welcomed her to their family, sure they were not a traditional family, but the guys and their old ladies became her family. While she always knew there was some type of connection with Maddox, Santana has completely avoided any attraction she has for him, until an incident happened during "Precarious" the first book in the series, and she is forced to face the feeling she has for Santana. Maddox has made it fairly obvious to the other men in the MC the feelings he has for Santana, even if he has never acted on the feelings he has always been attracted to her beauty, her spirit and her sassy personality. But will they ever be able to come to terms with their attaction for each other, or will external forces cause them to never get the chance to take a risk on each other.
I loved Santana, she had such a strong personality, however at times I found her 'innocent' behaviour a bit frustrating, she seemed to act like a teenager at times and would run off when she did not get her own way, instead of facing her problems. She did however have a very loving nature, she adored Maddox for saving her and when she realises her true feelings for him she loves him with everything she has. Maddox is a big bad guy, he is brash and says and does what he wants, as the MC he is used to people doing what he says, and Santana challenges him every step of the way. But I think this is why he loves her so much, she is such a strong woman and she does not take his crap.
I really enjoyed this book, it was just as fun and hot at the first book in the series, and I will eagerly await the next one in the series.......I am thinking it will be about the MC's brother!!!!!
