-Seriously i would like to murder poseidon right now. Not even going to lie.

Overall:
The ending….i never really Sigh at an ending and want to weep [ it’s different than crying!] but this made me want to weep and smile. God the ending was so worth the trials and tribulations this couple has been through. I can’t honestly tell you how much i rooted for them but felt at a loss. I didn’t think they would ever accomplish the impossible task of being together and honestly i was scared to hope for it. The way that the author wove this made you unsure for a moment on how everything was going to play out. I was certain that i would end up ugly crying out of sheer frustration for these two. The writing was vibrant and the wording was beautiful. I mean i felt like this story sort of wrapped me up like a cool breeze and carried me along. I definitely look forward to the second book in this series.

Medusa is the mortal daughter of sea Titans, serving as a priestess of Athena and living with her adopted parents. She falls in love with the soldier who guards her, but they know Athena comes first and keep their love for each other hidden.

When her actual parents wish for Medusa to return home so she can wed a powerful suitor, bear offspring and bring honor and riches to her father, Medusa ends up becoming entrenched in a feud between the gods.

This book was a roller coaster of emotions. There is such love between the main characters, and then that's ripped away to be replaced with endless amounts of tragedy. It's a great depiction of how fickle and detached from mortals the Olympus gods and goddesses could be, but it was hard to read this story when two amazing characters suffered so immensely. Even the ending is bittersweet.

Overall, a great retelling of the Medusa tale worthy of any Greek tragedy.

i have always loved the Medusa story. I have read many different tales about her. loved each one. but this one.. was so breathing with a fresh look at her. How, as always, the goddess rush into the curse, not thing how it wasn't Medusa fault. how she was loyal to her goddess threw all that happened. it's also a heart breaking story, of finding your true love, only to have it taken away so soon. this story made me lose my breath with each page. made my heart race with each tender touch to Medusa, all to human skin. made me cry when those she loved were curse by her own curse. I finished this book in two days! and I finished at work, the last three chapters had be crying all crazy, thank god it's a kindle and tear drops won't stain the pages! my mom came up to me and asked if I was okay, told it was the book and she just nodded and padded my shoulder. it's a common site with me! ah.
In the end Medusa returns to her true loves arms, and leave.. the after life with him in peace and true love. sad but beautiful none the less.

I love retelling especially when done so beautifully! Medusa brings images of just a mythological creature! Sasha Summers brings a personal side to the myth. She portrays Medusa as a beautiful,emotion filled person. As a reader I wanted her to get her happy ending,I wanted her to be loved from the beginning of the story. Have your tissues handy. I am excited to read more in this series.
