Product Description

The monsters of myth are real and she’s just discovered she's one of them.

Every instinct U.S. Marshal Morgan Jacobs has screams she’s dangerous. And all logic says she’s crazy. She couldn’t have killed that man by turning him to stone with her gaze. That’s impossible. Except she has no other explanation for what happened that night four months ago.

But now she’s caught in a game of cat and mouse against a powerful man determined to destroy her and must partner with two mysterious FBI agents in order to stop him. Except both men are too sexy for Morgan’s own good: the dark and brooding Alexander Gage, and the wicked bad boy Lachlin Kincade.

This boxed set includes the first three books in this action-packed dark urban fantasy series: Case #1: Written in Stone, Case #2: Heart of Stone, and Case #3: Escaped From Stone.

Grab your copy of the Medusa Files Collection and start reading Morgan's journey today!

The monsters of myth are real…

Every instinct U.S. Marshal Morgan Jacobs has screams she’s dangerous. And all logic says she’s crazy. She couldn’t have turned that man to stone with her gaze. That’s impossible. Except she has no other explanation for what she remembers about that night or how she got away from him four months ago. And when her friend is kidnapped, Morgan must partner with the mysterious FBI agent Alexander Gage and face the truth... monsters are real.

Some things are more dangerous than monsters.

Much to Morgan Jacobs’ relief, she isn’t crazy; the world is. Monsters of myth are real and she’s one of them. With only a tenuous hold on her new gorgon abilities and with some of those monsters—the Kin—trying to kill her, Morgan’s best bet is to move in with the mysterious Alexander Gage and his Kin team. Except she doesn’t know if she can trust him, or herself for that matter when he’s around. But when a young Kin woman is murdered with magic, Morgan must put aside her fear of her powers and face something more dangerous than just monsters: her emotions.

Sometimes the monster in the dark is real.

Still trying to figure out her place in a world where the monsters of myth are real, U.S. Marshal Morgan Jacobs finally has a reprieve from the madness. A murderer has escaped from jail, and while he is Kin—one of the monsters—Morgan at least knows how to handle a fugitive hunt. And with her best friend and fellow Marshal Kate helping out, it feels like nothing has changed. But everything has changed. Chasing a real monster is much more dangerous than chasing a human one and ignoring the truth could be deadly.

Wasn't sure at first but then got roped into the story line of all three books. Will definitely be getting the rest to see what happens.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good books-- but not worth the PRICE!! 14 May 2016

I read a LOT, so I don't normally take the time to review my books. However, I almost didn't give this series a chance even with it being free at the moment; purely because there had been no reviews made. I don't want anyone else to make that assumption and miss out! The plot is excellent, characters are engaging and well developed. Plus it's refreshing to read a Supernatural series that is not vampires and werewolves... again! I will be buying the next one.. Hoping for some steamy scenes to finally break the tension between Morgan and "the hottie's."

*I don't know the author and have not been hired to give a review

I had to take two stars off my rating. I did enjoy what I read of this series (stopped at book 4). Unfortunately, the books are very short and very expensive (especially for a kindle book). By the time you actually felt like some action was about to take off the books ended. This wouldn't have been so bad if the author made the series available through kindle unlimited, but it's not. It feels like the author took what should have been a 4 book series and cut into 13 sections so they could charge more money.
Honestly, until this series does go kindle unlimited ( or at least cheaper) I would not recommend them. Unless you don't mind throwing away $5-6 bucks for every 30 pages of book.

5.0 out of 5 stars get ready for a new urban fantasy fix 15 September 2016

I stumbled upon this volume while looking for a new urban fantasy fix. I'm glad I got into the Medusa series! CI Black's style is fast-paced, like Shannon Meyer's Rylee Adamson series is. Her main character, Morgan, suddenly discovers that she is not quite human and in fact is a creature of myth (a Gorgon). Learning you can turn someone to stone with your gaze and not having any training is enough to make almost anyone turn into a recluse, which is where the story starts. As Morgan is a U.S. Marshal by training this makes it even harder for her. The first 3 novels provide the "base" for the world CI Black is building and that she continues through the remaining 9 novels. There is a long story arc, with each novel building upon the other. CI does a good job in "weaving" plot threads throughout the series. My biggest criticism could be that the novels are a bit short and realistically, the first 3 could have been combined into one novel. Watching Morgan learn to function in this new world, and meeting the mysterious Alexander Gage and Lachlin, joining their FBI team makes for a fun read, as a whole. Great plane reading - it's a good read when you have a few hours to sit and escape.
4.0 out of 5 stars Morgan and her life. 16 October 2016

We start with Morgan having turned a bad guy into stone on her last mission. She has moved, changed phone number and distanced herself from friends and family. A man shows up at her door and says he wants her on his team. He is F.B.I. Jane Morgan is Deputy U.S. Marshal.

Book 2 finds Morgan reconnected with her friend Kate and learning how to control her powers. Also more involved with the F.B.I. team from the 1st book. They are taking on a new case.

Book 3 Morgan is being asked to either return to her Marshall's job or resign. Kate has a new partner and both the Marshall's and the F.B.I. teams are working together on a new case.

Good reads, really enjoyed them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual and Fabulous 29 June 2016

Morgan is an intelligent, unique character. She learns she's not just human and is extremely dangerous. Or at least, that's how she feels after turning her attacker to dust. With secrets and mystery, Morgan finds herself with a group of special "FBI" agents that deal with the Kin side of things. They're not telling her everything and she doesn't completely trust what they're selling, however, she doesn't have any better offers at the moment.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! 30 October 2016

This was one of the most amazing book series I have ever read (and I have read literally several hundred books in the paranormal suspense romance genre). The suspense elements were off the charts - both within each book and across the whole series, the sense of peril the characters were in palpable. Her world developing was phenomenal - the types of paranormal being were numerous, complex and fascinating. There were aspects of trust (could the main character trust herself, and could she trust the people around her) integral to the book which really added to the suspense and to complexity in the romantic relationships that kept me guessing about what was going to happen next, and even had me so engaged I dreamt about the characters. Several nights I stayed up way later than I should have with work the next day - I just couldn't put it down. I cannot recommend this series highly enough.
