Product Description

Nettie Clayton’s well-planned life is stolen in a few moments when Josh McClintock mistakes her window for that of her carousing neighbor. Never mind that Nettie’d had a crush on Josh since they met. Because of his carelessness, she loses her coveted teaching position, the community’s respect, and her father’s high opinion of her.
Josh McClintock’s free-wheeling life comes to an abrupt end after his birthday celebration. He works hard by day on the family ranch; he plays just as hard on weekends. He loves being single to play the field of willing females and has no plan to marry for five or six years. One drunken mistake alters his life and Nettie’s forever.
While Nettie and Josh struggle to deal with an unwanted marriage, a crazed villain planning his revenge against the McClintock family targets Josh and Nettie. Can a reluctant bride and groom conquer the odds to discover a love that will last through all time?

2.0 out of 5 stars Weak Male Lead 15 August 2015
By JTC - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This was not as good as Dallas and Cenora's story because of a weak male lead. While the premise was the same - a forced marriage - it was brought about by the man's careless actions. Whereas Dallas was understandably angry at his forced marriage, he didn't punish Cenora with words or actions. Josh was whiny, belligerent, and self-centered throughout the first half of the story. He kept bemoaning the fact that HIS life was ruined, when in actuality, he ruined Nettie's plans for her life. He continued to act in an immature fashion. I also didn't like how it was made to be basically Nettie's responsibility to make amends in the marriage. Josh never gave her a heartfelt apology - either for his actions that night or for his drinking later. Even when he finally started to turn around, he wasn't a strong male lead that I like prefer. Only 2 stars from me.

This book is Josh and Nettie's story. I was given a arc for a honest review. I have to say I did buy the book because I loved it .Nettie is a feisty young woman who got trapped into marriage because Josh was going to see the town strumpet and get his birthday present after his party but he climbed in the wrong window and passed out across Netties legs ,being such a sound sleeper she wakes thinking she had a stroke because she can't move her legs only to find Josh there across her legs just as her DAD knocks on her bedroom door and so she kicks him under the bed to hide him before going to the door her dad walks in demanding to know what his horse is doing outside , she doesn't know of course and her dad then sees Josh's boots sticking out from under the bed oh me how does she explain that one .I am saying no more but the book is full of giggles and fear .if you don't get it your missing a great read.

McClintock’s Reluctant Bride (The McClintocks Book 3)
Ok, I love this writer! Caroline Clemmons has me so engaged with the series I honestly went straight from book 1, to 2, to now 3. They were all great. This one had me laughing aloud in parts. Bad boy, Josh McClintock gets himself trapped into a shotgun wedding because he climbed into the window of the wrong house while drunker than a skunk and harmed the reputation of Nettie Clayton. Neither bride, nor groom, was happy about this forced union. While Nettie had a crush on Josh, this was not how she wanted to win him. Plus, he ruined her plans to be a teacher and help her brother go to medical school. Watching these two work it out and find love was great fun. This book had danger, humor, and sincerely touching moments. Loved it. Can’t wait for book 4 now. I recommend this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love those McClintocks! 30 July 2015

Caroline Clemmons has written another time consuming book.....time consuming because I couldn't stop reading any I had finished it. I always enjoy visiting with the McClintocks and really liked getting to know Josh better. In the previous books he was a minor character with potential, and it was met. On the night of his 21st birthday Josh gets stinking drunk and mistakenly climbs in the wrong window and passes out. Nettie Clayton is a sound sleeper and doesn't realize something is wrong h til she wakes up the next morning.

The emotional response to being forced to marry is hard on both and makes for a good read, I know you will enjoy this book and will look forward to the next one.

Very good. Josh & Nettie. Circumstances force an unhappy Josh to marry Nettie. They have a rough beginning, but she learns about ranching, shooting a gun, and horseback riding. She also wins the love of her new family. This is a great romance with just enough excitement to keep it interesting.
