Product description

Agricola is a Euro-style board game. It is a worker placement game with a focus on resource management. In Agricola, players are farmers that sow, plow the fields, collect wood, build stables, buy animals, expand their farms and feed their families. After 14 rounds players calculate their score based on the size and prosperity of the household. Monoculture is boring, keep a good balance between farming and animal husbandry and you will have a flourishing and nice looking farm. Designed for 1-4 players, this family edition of the game features no cards and simplified rules, making it a perfect entry point to Agricola for younger players, or those who simply want a more casual play experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars You should buy this game!
Reviewed in the United States on 30 September 2016
This game takes a lot after its predecessor (Agricola). However, this is a less stressful version (you only lose points for beggar tokens and don't lose points for lacking animals or grains). It is also more simplistic allowing the introduction of younger kids to be able to play the game. The game says 8+ and I think an 8 year old could play this game, however I wouldn't expect the 8 year old to win most of the time. Still, I think kids would be able to enjoy "building a farm".

This game is roughly the same difficulty as Stone Age but there is no luck/dice (this is a pure strategy game).

You should buy this game if:
You don't current own Agricola and you like family strategy board games.
You like games that don't rely on luck.
You want a fun game that everyone in the family can enjoy.

You should not buy this game if:
You already have Agricola and a gaming group already dedicated to playing it, you may not necessarily like this simplified family edition (unless you are trying to introduce the game to someone who has never played before and doesn't like the stress of negative points)
