By purchasing one of our dog leashes, you receive a premium high quality leash and you donate one to a rescue. Together we can support dog rescues with a never ending supply of leashes.
DOG RESCUES: Each month we donate to different rescues throughout the USA. At the end of every month, we tally up the number of leashes, collars, harnesses, toys, etc. sold. Based on the number, we determine how many rescues we can donate to for that month. We donate down our list of rescues until each one has received a donation and then we go back to the top of our list. In special cases, we will donate to rescues out of turn based on their immediate needs.

ABOUT US Max and Neo Dog Gear is named after my dog Neo and my brother's dog Max. Both dogs lived happy lives in Arizona. When Neo passed away, I began fostering rescue dogs. It became apparent to me that running dog rescues required alot of resources in both time and money. After seeing only 2% negative reviews, I felt fairly confident in making this purchase with the bonus feel-good of helping a worthy cause. And I was not disappointed! 100% as advertised and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the additional D-ring at the handle (great for poop bags). I have a nearly 100 lb yellow Lab mix (suspected part pit bull) who has, admittedly, mellowed as he approaches his senior years. But he will still challenge a leash if he encounters another person or canine with whom he absolutely MUST befriend - obnoxiously friendly is my beast and the only upside to the physical challenges of his years is that he can no longer jump upon his new friends (strangers who might not appreciate experiencing what it might feel like to be tackled by a linebacker). But I digress. My point is, those who claim poor quality workmanship must have gotten a defective leash. I’m sure the company would readily replace it (right?).
As for the other complaints in the negative reviews: “it’s not reflective at all”... I don’t know what they were expecting, glow-in-the-dark? Mine does not, in fact, glow in the dark. But when I walk my dog at night I wear a headlamp and when I look over at my pooch, the stitching on the leash shine right back at me.
Another bad review which compliments the padded handle but complains that the leash itself has sharp edges that tore their hands attempting to control their dog. Personally, I have had to grab the lead a time or two in order to prevent a possible dog fight (or possible stranger molestation lol) without any issues of cutting into my hands. The review DID say that it’s “probably a good leash for a well-behaved dog.” Um, what? You’re effecting a company’s reputation based on the fact that you have difficulty controlling your dog? That’s not their fault, it’s yours. There are leashes you can buy with two handles, there are thick rope types, there’s dog training schools, there’s any number of options that don’t boil down to admitting that you can’t control your animal without blaming the leash manufacturers. Which leads me to the majority of the remaining complaints, “my puppy chewed through it.” Again, how is this the manufacturer’s fault? Are they complaining to their slipper company, too? I swear some people shouldn’t be allowed to have pets ....

Love this company not only do they have an outstanding give back to the cause! But their products are excellent. Great prices, strong materials but what we loved most... The reflective collar and leashes they actually glow in the dark making our pet safe and the ones who care for them as well!

Nice leash.
PROs: The reflective stitching reflects more than I thought it would. The handle is padded and has soft fabric which is great. I like that a leash is donated to a rescue with every purchase (without making the item more expensive than other similar leashes). The clasp is thick and strong.
CONs: it's nice to have a thick clasp however it does make it heavier on the dog but my dog doesn't mind it. The strap part isn't very thick and would be easy to chew through especially for bigger dogs. I don't like the metal D ring at all but can't figure out how to remove it (it is very securely attached). I always put the handle around my wrist and hold the leash but that happens to be right where the D ring is so I have to make sure it is on the opposite side of the leash from my palm or it hurts my hand.
