Product Description

As the months have gone by since Ivy and her wolves bonded, hints have continually been dropped about moving in together and marriage. It's unfortunate then that the romantic proposal which Ivy had hoped for never quite arrived. Her two alpha wolves instead merely demand her hand in marriage.

Suitably unimpressed, Ivy tells her gits to bugger off and hops on a private jet for a swanky masked ball in Monte Carlo with Alicia, Alim and Dane.

Can Steve and Gareth find the right words to win the yes from her lips?

You just never know who or what you'll find at a masquerade.

The other books in the series: Ivy & Natasha are also available on Amazon

5.0 out of 5 stars Giving me a short story about these guys is like teasing a child with a single piece of candy 29 October 2014
By Nicole-Books N Pearls - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I don't think I will ever get enough of this trio. Ivy definitely reacts properly to being demanded to marry the wolves. I would respond in the same way. So when Ivy and her friends head off to a Masquerade ball, I could understand why she wanted to get away. I don't want to give spoilers, but there are some definite moments of perfection between Ivy and her wolves and between Ivy and Alim and Dane. I cannot wait to read more about the Blackbirds and Ivy's friends. Alim has been a bit of a perplexing character so far and I am interested to see more of his dual personality. He bounces from flirtatious git to protector in the blink of an eye, and it is so intriguing. Dane is a bit of a puzzle to me. He is such a great friend toward Ivy, but he keeps romantic relationships at arm's length. I will be interested to see who can break through his walls (if anyone, ever). And Alicia's story promises to be quite interesting. Dane... Jezza... and Josh all have their eyes on her? The little glimpses of the upcoming stories in Masquerade provide a perfect bridge between the longer tales. Of course, I will complain that it just wasn't enough, but giving me a short story about these guys is like teasing a child with a single piece of candy. It just isn't ever enough. I wouldn't recommend reading this as a stand-alone novel, but it could be done. I think you really need to read Ivy and Natasha to understand the bond and the history. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars SHORT BUT OH SO VERY SWEET! 30 October 2014
By MRS M D ATTENBOROUGH - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Following the wolves DEMAND,yes, you read right, DEMAND that she marry them, Ivy runs to Monte Carlo for a ball with Alicia and Alim, much the Gareth and Steve's annoyance. Ivy is unprepared for the longing she feels at having leaving them behind, if only for a short time. When the wolves arrive in Monte Carlo, and step up to the plate, will Ivy say yes??

Oh how I love thee, Ms Donovan! And thy pack!

Steve and Gareth are, well, Steve and Gareth! They love Ivy, they do, they just can't quite get their head round this romance lark! With some prodding from Darren, Natasha, and Josh, they do ASK, and when they do?? its beautiful, I'm not giving details, but its done in a way only wolves can do it!

We get a little, and I mean teeny tiny bit of Darren and Nastasha, some Dane and Jezza, and Alicia has her own moment that leads into, not quite the next book, but it leads into her story soon. With whom?? not saying!

Its only a short burst, 31 pages, but just enough to keep you hanging on til the next book, which will be soon, I hope!

Donovan has a very British sense of humour, for an American, and I get her, I really do! I so love the way that humour comes across, and I'm sorry if you dont get it, you really are missing a treat!

I was given the opportunity to beta read this little ditty, and I thank Dahlia for that. This is NOT a beta review, I purchased the book, since I love them so much!

NEXT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gifted by author in exchange for an honest review. 8 November 2014

Ivy is still dealing with her wolves, Steve and Gareth and their demanding alpha ways. As they progress in their relationship, she loves them and wants to marry them; however, the proposal they give her is more of a demand, and it is not how Ivy has wanted to be proposed to. She has them spinning emotionally and not knowing how to approach the proposal where she’ll actually accept. Ivy is an independent woman and decides to take up her Uncle Alim’s invitation to attend his masquerade ball. How will the alpha males feel about this?

They are already suspicious of Ivy’s friendship with her Uncle Alim. However, knowing Ivy, she is going to show them a thing or two about trying to dominate her! The masquerade ball is where things can happen, and usually does. Come along with Ivy as she expresses her love of life, and friendships that the two wolves have to endear. It is a bumpy, hilarity adventure for all. Along with intrigue as her best friend has to reveal a life-changing event that, her Uncle Alim will not be too happy about.

I have fallen for this series, hook, line, and sinker! The stories have such humor, suspense, along with adventure. This page-turner is quick to read, and is well written and is non-stop from the beginning. Ivy’s character is tough, loyal, and determined not to be walked all over by these two dominant, alpha wolves. When all they want is to keep her safe and loved. However, they have a lot to learn about relationships. Since they have never had a connection with any other female until Ivy came along. The mishaps are laugh out loud hilarious, and keep you wanting more. I would highly recommend this book! I do suggest though to pick up the first two books in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ivy and her wolves continue to intrigue 29 October 2014
By Sheila Kell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I was gifted a copy of Masquerade for an honest review. Let me say that I love the Blackbird series by Dahlia Donovan. This short story didn't disappoint. Ivy's wolves have a lot to learn when it comes to women, Ivy in particular. Their demand does not go over well with Ivy. She goes to a masquerade ball with her friends to give her wolves time to figure out what they did wrong and how they will fix it.

Dahlia wrote another 5-star book. In this short story, she continued to develop the characters in the Blackbird series. It was refreshing to see the heroes we loved from Ivy be far from perfect. Even in this short story, it is easy to fall in love with Ivy's two wolves.

Thank you, Dahlia, for continuing a great series. I look forward to next story in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Honest Review 17 November 2014
By Fictional Men's Page For Book Ho's - Published on Amazon.com

This was a cute fast read but I felt that because of its brevity there wasn’t sufficient time to build enough drama to sustain my attention but I think that’s a personal preference and not the fault of the author. I liked the relationship between Ivy and Steven and Gareth, it was tender and comical at times. I especially liked how she puts them both in their place!! The additional plot concerning the secondary characters gave the story some oomph and a diversity of characters. Make sure that you read the first book in the Blackbird series, Ivy, because this story takes place after that.
