Please don't do this. Set your stories in an American high school and save us all from this mish mash of continents.
However, I haven't read many of her books and I see that Lisa Helen has written quite a few more, so hopefully she's put a bit more thought and research into them.
I found it very hard to get into this book. The first book Denny mentions Kayla's suspected rape and how Kayla's mother forced her to shower after. Denny mentions her own mothers despair at hearing this stating that she would have gone to the police. Later on in book one Denny describes her relationship with her mother as controlling and she felt unloved. This continued throughout this book...just not believable. The author should keep with what she knows.
I enjoyed book 1 of this series, and loved meeting all the new characters. And there are a lot of characters.
This book features the continuing story of Mason and Denny, who we met in book 1 and know a little about.
As well as finding out more about this couple, we also meet the characters we fell in love with in book 1. I loved being able to follow a new part of this family story, as well as meeting old characters and seeing more of their story.
Denny is a confused young girl. As such, she does what she believes is for the best. She runs away. Everyone, she believes, has turned their backs on her, and she can see no other way forward.
But by leaving she kickstarts a chain of events which will change her life forever.
The storyline pretty much goes how I thought it would, but with a few unexpected twists in the latter part.
There are a number of grammar issues, and spelling errors, throughout which did spoil the experience a little for me. But this isn't a major thing, and can be easily fixed in the future.
All in all a good continuation of the story, and I can't wait to read more about the brothers and their extended family.
This book just grips you from the very first page so that you have no choice but to stay in your pj's all day until you finish it. I was skeptical that this book in the series would be as good as Malik but I think Lisa managed to make it just as good if not better the second time round.
Would recommend this book to anyone and I cant wait to read the next in the series. Thank you to Helen Lisa Gray for creating this amazing work and please keep writing
