While the early trailers for this game might have shown it off absolutely poorly and had my expectations set really low, this game absolutely surprised me with how great it is. Excellent combat mechanics paired with an incredibly good (single player only) story written by the great Dan Abnett really makes this one of the genuinely great surprises of 2021.
I expected this game to be horrendous but it’s quite possibly the most fun I’ve had playing any game in years. The gameplay is enjoyable but the real treat is the dialogue. Some of the funniest lines I’ve heard in a video game.
Not my usual type of game, but the writing and story is so clever i got fully sucked into it. Wish it was longer but ill replay with different choices.
I want to like this game as Im a big MCU fan, but there is too much talking and cinematic to enjoy it. The gameplay is also quite restrictive. If you're used to open world games, you're going to find it challenging to walk along these pre-set paths where you can't go left or right only straight. It feels like a dated way to play. I do like the battle functions though. Just be prepared for a lot of blah blah blah blah and watching rather than playing.
