Product description

Product Description

The man who has been more of a dad to me than my biological father is dead.
He rescued me from the streets six years ago—a runaway teenage boy, escaping a family who thought I was an abomination.
Now what do I do? I have no one.
My life might look great from the outside. I’m in college. I have my own apartment. I have lots of friends.
But I’m dying on the inside.
I feel so alone. Lost. Hopeless.
I’m not the kind of person to wallow in self-pity. I need a distraction.
The guy moving into Unit A may be just what I need to take my mind off of losing my dad.

****

21-year old Oliver Lancaster is attracted to 22-year old Adam Stockton, the former-Marine moving into Unit A. But attraction for the closeted man morphs quickly into something deeper, something meaningful, something that terrifies Oliver. What will happen if Adam learns about the secret from his past?

Warning: contains skinny dipping, two hot men kissing, and sexual situations taking place in a 10-unit Mediterranean complex filled with college-aged hotties.

Kris Cook's Mockingbird Place series has a very topical in this moment story line. We meet a lot of the residents of Mockingbird Place and get their backstories while getting the most about Oliver, the story holder for MP, and Adam, the Marine, who is new to MP. You get to meet and come to like the people who are associated with MP. It is a look at issues met by this tight knit group and the help they give to others. I look forward to the stories to come about the other Units at Mockingbird Place.

Thanks Kris Cook & Good Writing

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good story 24 April 2017

I went back and forth between a 3 and 4 star rating on this just because it was a bit repetitive in the beginning, the MCs didn't seem to have chemistry, and drove me a bit crazy with their back and forth. As I read on however, the chemistry became more pronounced and I actually got into the story. It's a cute story and I really like the premise of Mockingbird Place. I'll definitely continue this series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great first outing! 17 September 2015
By Maggie Johnson - Published on Amazon.com

I really liked this story. The story centers on Oliver and Adam, who meet when Adam moves into the Apt complex Oliver lives in. Their story is filled with bumps and bruises for Adam is a former Marine, injured and hiding his true self. Oliver, out and proud, has his own truth he hides from everyone and keeps him from having a real relationship. They struggle through misunderstandings and miscommunication, and even though their friends try to help, this is something they must work out together.

A tragedy forces them to really look at themselves, and with a little push from Mom's visit...maybe they can find their own happy ever after!

I am looking forward to the next story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart-warming 22 September 2015
By C. Harrell - Published on Amazon.com

Warm, comfortable story that is very relevant to today's issues covering everything to same-sex marriage to the end of DADT, which happens to be near and dear to my heart.

I spent five years in the Army prior to DADT and it was rough if you were gay. It's nice to see a story that is somewhat centered around the possibilities of what might happen if people, members and former members of the military in particular, are allowed to be who they are. A wounded veteran who just happens to be gay is so en pointe. I saw so many strong, masculine gay military men who were deeply buried in the closet which resulted in behavioral, alcohol and drug issues. So glad things are changing for the better, albeit slowly.

Nice job, Kris. Looking forward to the next installments!
4.0 out of 5 stars More sexy angst with satisfying resolution. 4 May 2017

This is part of the series involving the Mockingbird apartments and the various residents and their extended families. All of them have been good, sexy reads & the author has a very charming, pleasant writing style that's very comfortable and yet still propels the reader forward easily. Good escapist stories with believable characters.
