Intense book that you won't regret reading

It took me over a month to read this book because the exercises were so intense. I nearly gave up because I had gotten Colette's new book "Uncharted" for Christmas and was dying to start reading it. But, I persevered and I am so glad I did. The last exercise in this book is the reason I was supposed to read it. I had just ended my 36+ year friendship with my best friend and I was feeling awful about it. This exercise made me realize that it was a toxic friendship and that I had made her co-dependent on me and was enabling her all those years. What a wake-up call for me. The epiphany this exercise brought me was much needed. It helped me to work through and finally release the guilt I had over ending the friendship. Thank you, Colette, for writing the book that helped me overcome this guilt.

I loved this book. Sometimes we are so caught up in our past that we don't get to live in the moment. The author helps you work your way out of the past and understand why you may be stuck there. Then she helps you to stay present and create a future that you will love to live in. I also loved her authenticity and her stories. A great book. Just grabbed her next one and can't wait for Uncharted to launch very soon.

Colette Baron-Reid knows how to weave the fabric of life into a tale of lost treasure waiting to be discovered. All metaphors for how to find one's life purpose and begin living it fully. This book is indeed a treasure trove of good fortune along with a beautiful writing style to pull the reader into their own life journey. I am about 5 chapters in and my life is making an incredible transformation for which I am very grateful. I'm reading this in conjunction with her newest book, Uncharted. I recommend both books highly.

I've read the book twice, and enjoyed it even more the second time. It's the concrete images of places on a map that does it. They represent life situations. Concrete images make the ideas simple to see. It's abstractions that confuse us. And beneath it all is a solid foundation of scholarship and training both in formal educational institutions and in the university of "life". This book is one that gives you a GPS to guide you through the roads of your life experiences.
