A Dull listReviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 October 2019
I was expecting this book to explain the origins of some of our peculiar English phrases and idioms. Instead it is just a boring list of said phrases woven into a dull narrative. Of little interest unless perhaps you are a non native speaker.

What a mine of information. I'm part-way through and loving it.
Way to expensiveReviewed in Canada on 24 July 2020
While I have no doubt the product is satisfactory, I cannot comprehend why some sticks and other matter is so very costly.
Three StarsReviewed in Canada on 21 January 2017
Not a bad effort … but expected more research into the origin and evolution of these sayings...
