About the Author
ROBERT MUCHAMORE was born in Islington in 1972. As a teenager he dreamt of either becoming an architect, a photographer or a writer. On discovering that architects have to train for seven years and after quitting his Saturday job in a camera shop, he saved up enough money to buy a word processor and set his heart on writing. The only problem was, he didn't know what to write. So, he found a regular job and spent thirteen years as a private investigator.
He was inspired to start writing again by his nephew's complaints about the lack of anything decent to read. Robert's CHERUB and Henderson's Boys series are bestsellers around the world.
Robert grew up listening to mix tapes sent to him by his older brother, developing tastes for indie bands like Joy Division, The Pogues and The Smiths. The idea for Rock War came from seeing that many of Robert's fans turned up at book signings wearing the logos of long dead rock bands, and a realisation that his online fan forum had more kids talking about the X-Factor than about his books.

Certainly not the best of the magnificent series, but still gripping. I love how Kyle's perspective was portrayed more frequently throughout the book, but more of James' life at campus via cellphone would've been better as well. Rat needs to take some action.

recently finished the cherub series. this was the worst book by far. i read half of it but gave up until i pusged myself and read it. The main reason why i didn't enjoy this book was because i felt the book wasn't as complicated like The recruit.
Sure there were vandilism but c'mon . I thunk someone paid robert muchamore for this book as i can't imagine how he got such a bad topic. Animal testing. Sure it's a crisis but it doesn't fit like any other book
Also, i wanna point out that the idea of using a criminal was ingenious but what I thought as a good idea

thought provoking (like all Cherub books)

Young adult books sure have changed since I was a young adult, but I must say so has the world and the access to all kinds of information kids have these days (internet, TV etc), so I must say I think these books are great. every book is a current affair topic realistic to the world today. And though grimm at times in the middle there is still a happy ending, which is important for a younger audience - good to know the reality of the world, no need to give them a "no hope at all left" message either :)
Some people commented about the use of strong language ... frankfully I dont like swearing either or calling names for that fact, but let's face it , we all did as teenagers, teenagers today are no difference.
There seems to be a tendency today from people to raise their kids in little pink bubbles away from the reality of the world today. I am glad there are writers out there that still encourage kids / teenagers to start thinking about the world they live in.

What a book

This is by far my favourite book from the cherub series. I love how RM took the risk of tackling such an important matter. And he did so well. The book is well written and engaging. It also raises awareness of a matter that i am extreemly passionate about and this is a great way to let people know about the disgrace of meat eating amd why it is still important in todays world. I love this book and would recommend it to everyone.

I enjoyed reading this series

I enjoyed reading this series. Each book was very well written. A really interesting concept. Lots of action in each book and we also get to know all of the main characters really well.. .
If you haven't read the Henderson's Boys books - which tells us how CHERUB came into being - then I suggest you really do. Again an excellent series of books, as long as you can forgive some basic mistakes which with proper research would have made a good series into a great series.

Robert Muchamore', appeal to teenage readers with an adult reading age!

I have a confession to make. I personally, yet, have not read any of the authors books purchased. I bought them for my grandson as a part of his birthday present, having discovered that he had already read the two earlier books in the Cherub series. I am aware that the author has produced a prolific number of titles in this series, and no doubt I am going to have to select more in time for Christmas, such are the appeal of this genre to intelligent young men who enjoy literature, and drama. Full marks for captivating the reader and giving enjoyment to someone who also is definitely not a couch potato, and also enjoys his sporting activities.
