Product Description

Can two people who have never met make a marriage work? Popular dating site Sociality thinks so, and is marrying London lad Adam to California girl Jessica to prove it.

What better way to show that your ‘love algorithms’ work than to put two complete strangers together in an expensive publicity stunt? But, as livewire Jess and lazybones Adam quickly discover, just because a computer says you’re the perfect match, it doesn’t make it so!

Two million Sociality subscribers and the media are following the happy couple’s progress, and they have to make a go of it or they’ll lose everything, look like idiots, and destroy Sociality’s reputation. But can the mismatched pair, who seem to be constantly at each other’s throats, put their differences aside and work their way into each other’s hearts?

Nick Spalding, bestselling author of Fat Chance and Bricking It, will make you cry with laughter at this story of marital warfare—complete with sinking boats, badly aimed flatulence, well aimed tennis balls and some very suggestive pastry.

This was a bit of a let down. The story premise was a bit silly, but the characters were not at all believable, so that did not help.
The writing was okay, with some funny bits, but at the end of the book it was much like eating an entire bag of crisps - you felt let down and a little silly for doing it!

I liked the first books but this one seemed contrived and somewhat forced. Hope you will write more Nick but put your heart into the next one.

Not as enjoyable for me as 'Bricking it' but still some absolutely hilarious scenes and well written. Never a dull moment.

Yet another great book from Nick Spalding... I have read many of his books and found them all uniquely entertaining and humorous in their own way.
'Mad Love' is a wonderful addition to his already impressive slate of books. Nick introduces a different side to Internet dating - think Married at First Sight meets tinder!
The story goes:- Adam and Jessica both want to change their lives. They enter a online dating site competition to win a luxury wedding and the chance to live in a central London penthouse. The only drawback? They will meet for the first time at the altar. Adam is a geeky English gamer-boy, Jessica is a brainy, sporty Californian college girl, but yet the dating site has picked them out of thousands as being the perfect match. What could possibly go wrong, right?
Nearly every chapter consists of a question and answer based on the profile they each filled in on the website which gives more insight into their characters. I don't want to give anything away as towards the end the story gets juicy and it's only then I feel the characters come alive and I wanted more. I would recommend reading Mad Love if you want something to keep you laughing from beginning to end....guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I am pleased this was part of the KU program.

Adam and Jess have everyday issues with life expectations and with themselves. A lighter look at what most young people looking for love and self improvement may dream of doing, but not actually expecting it to happen. Love the mix of English cynicism and American cultural differences, hey I know people like these two. Thanks for another great read.

I laughed out loud reading this book and felt this was a very good example of a contemporary marriage of convenience story. A social media marriage. I particularly liked Adam's voice in this. However I am a clean read girl at heart and there were way too many sexual references for me. Also too much bad language.

Thank you to Netgalley for supplying a copy of this book. The opinions within it are my own.
