Why I bought this
I own two guitars, a Yamaha Pacifica 112v and an Epiphone Les Paul Standard plus top pro as well as an acoustic guitar and a concert ukulele.
I wanted something which I could use to support the necks on all my instruments when changing strings as well as cleaning the fretboards and general maintenance.
This was especially important as my Epiphone guitar has an angled head and I did not want to damage the guitar resting it on the floor.
My Opinion
There are people who say that resting your guitar on a cushion or pillow would be fine, however I wanted something which would offer a bit of extra support.
I came across the Music Nomad Cradle Cube on Amazon and set about checking out more about it.
-Plus points
1 - It is made out of a soft matt gel material so it wont damage your instruments
2 - As it is a sort of cube shape, you can turn it on any of its sides for a range of different angles which are all designed for different things.
a) - A more raised angle for resting acoustic guitar necks
b) - A flat side which you can use to rest your instrument strings down
c) - 2 other angles for resting the neck of your instrument
d) - On every side there is a lip which means you can loosen your strings while your instrument is rested on the cube and hook the strings under this.
e) - You can also keep all your odds and ends such as peg winders inside this when you are done using it as it doubles as a storage container with 4 compartments.
-Minus points
If anything this is probably a bit expensive for what it is.
From a practical point of view however I use this when I fret fast my guitars, when the strings need changing and when fretboards need cleaning. I am really pleased I can use this on all my instruments and it makes maintenance a breeze.
My advice - buy one and you wont regret it!
