Product Description

Three full-length thrillers. Over a quarter million words to keep you up nights!
Can kidnapping a sick woman alter the course of a nation?
After stepping off the corporate treadmill, Clint finds love to last a lifetime in Beth, who is recovering from kidney failure. When she blows off their date and misses her dialysis session, Clint suspects she's been kidnapped. In spite of the mounting evidence, her family refuses to call the police. They have their reasons, but without routine dialysis, Beth won’t survive.
While Clint pursues every lead to find her. Beth’s dilemma draws the attention of spy trackers at the CIA investigating a computer system breach. Someone launched an unauthorized mission. Was it terrorists? Or someone more sinister . . .
Can Clint find Beth before her kidneys fail, or will her abductors pervert the justice of a nation?

With Boston under fire, only Clint Masters can stop the madness. But the city blames him for every disaster.
With his allies at the CIA, Clint battles a mysterious new threat targeting his company and the citizens of Boston, who now live in fear. Under a gag order from his last confrontation, Clint can’t reveal the truth about the tragedies.
In spite of city-wide panic, he sees the terror attacks as personal. And he learns that not everyone at the CIA wants to catch the killer. With public suspicion at redline, Clint must go on the run to survive.
Can he capture the ruthless destroyer before his city burns? Or will Clint become the next victim?

Hackers can steal your money, control your car, access your secret files. What if one had a grip on your beating heart?
Whatever. Clint’s got his own problems. With his company in chaos, only a bottle of scotch tempers his misery. But his apathy will cost others their lives. A plea from the President of the United States doesn’t shake his despondence. Not even an ultimatum from Beth. With one of their own on the line, the Washington elite won’t let Clint rest until they get answers.
Will Clint rise above his mounting despair and help the CIA catch a cyber killer?

3 Lies:

I just finished the first book in this series—“3 Lies”. Since I have a memory problem I am going to review each book in this series as I finished reading them or I won’t be able to write a review on the individual books. Once I finish book 2 in the series, I will come back here and update this review—the same with book 3.

All that being said, since my memory is so bad lately, I re-read “3 Lies” & I found it just as engaging the second time around as I did the first time. It held my interest and I wanted to keep reading it to see where it was all going to end. The hero of the story is named Clint Masters & his love interest is named Beth (can’t remember her last name). Clint was in the middle of a divorce when he met Beth. All seemed to be going well for Clint until 2 things happened. One, his soon to be ex-wife tells him she is pregnant and the baby is his. The second thing to go wrong is that Beth is kidnapped. It was bad enough that Beth was kidnapped but no one wanted to admit it and no one was going to do anything about it. Poor Clint, he was at his wit’s end trying to find out where Beth was and why was she kidnapped. Being the head of a techie company he was able to pull up information that started him onto the right path to find her and find out who was behind it all. Clint’s part of the story is only one part of the story. The other part of the story involved the CIA. The hero in the CIA’s part was a man named Doug. Doug accidentally discovered something about some rouge agents that concerned some outdated code. Doug was put in charge of the investigation. In the CIA story part we never know who is to be trusted and Doug sure does not know who to trust either. Suffice to say the CIA investigation winds up being part of Clint’s story too. I won’t tell you how it all ties together or I would be telling you the meat of the story. Ms. Hanson has the talent and the skill to write 2 seemingly different stories in the same book and then is able to pull the 2 stories together and make them work together seamlessly—making a lot bigger story and a much better story. I have found this to be true in more than one of her books and that was true here too.

This story was fast paced, full of action, filled with suspense and had a few surprises that you won’t know until the end of the story. There were no steamy sex scenes or profanity in this story and I really appreciated this fact. This is a stand alone story even though you will want to read more about Clint and Beth.

Update: (Aug 28, 2016)

I am finally ready to finish my review. I originally was going to review each book as I finished reading them but when I finished the second one I found I could not stop. So I went ahead and read the 3rd book too. Each book gets even more suspenseful than the previous book & you just don't want to quit reading until you have finished them all. In the Master's Key we find that everything that could go wrong for Clint does so. Little by little someone is out to destroy him & his company. Between his previous "best friend" and ex-wife, Clint doesn't stand much of a chance. It is a good thing that he had Merlin & a few good friends with the CIA or he would have had no one to believe in him other than Beth, his girlfriend. Even though the ending of this book had a fair conclusion, there was still one hanging thread that did not get resolved. So I just had to go ahead and read the 3rd book immediately to see if this was going to be resolved.

Dead Storm was book 3. Now I have to tell you that I did not like Clint very much for for about 80% of this book. He no longer was the Clint that we all learned to love and respect. He let himself wallow in self-pity to the point that he was obnoxious to everyone (including Beth!) & unfeeling & unsympathetic toward everyone. He not only was loosing his company but he was loosing friends and even Beth. It was only when he finally realized that he was loosing Beth that he finally started to become the Clint we knew in the first 2 books. And just in the nick of time because his valuable services was badly needed by The First Lady of the White House and a little boy whose life was hanging on by a thread without his help. In the mean time Todd is still out of the country still indulging in his criminal activity. The only problem is that someone has started trying to kill Todd--and Todd does not know who it is! This is where it gets really interesting. Todd needs the CIA to stay alive and the CIA wants him to help Clint--so a deal is formed. You will just have to read this book to find out what the deal was and how Clint was able to redeem himself not only to Beth & the CIA, but to the public at large. I have a feeling that this is not the end of the story of Clint and Beth. I am looking forward to more! I do have to mention that if you read Ms. Hanson's other book, "Spider Games," you will see an appearance of Clint in that book too even though he is not the central character in that book.
5.0 out of 5 stars Clint Masters Highs, Lows, and Personal Woes 3 August 2016

This series is a mixture of TechnoThriller, Political Intrigue, and Crime Fiction with dash of Romance thrown in.

3 Lies:

Clint Masters only wanted a break for the techno-rat-race he'd been in after his wife asked for a divorce. He starts to get a feeling of 'normalcy' after buying a boat, sailing with a mate, adopting a dog, and finding a beautiful woman who understands him. That all comes to a screeching halt when his wife wants to reconcile and Beth, the woman he loves, disappears. Clint doesn't trust his estranged spouse and wonders why no one is reporting Beth missing. All he gets is lies and he is fed up with it. He does what he can to bring Beth home safely. Will he go too far?

The Masters' Key:

Clint Masters realized that things were not what he thought they were. Now he is trying to put things right but there is someone out there that wants to take everything away from him and doesn't care who dies in the process. Will Clint be able to figure out who is behind it or will more lives be endangered?

Dead Storm:

Clint Masters personal demons show up in full force as he is trying to rebuild the company he loves. Unfortunately, there is a new threat that affects those in governmental power. Will Clint get past his trials and tribulations to do what is right for others?

I really enjoyed this series and how Ms. Hanson shared the highs and lows of the key characters as they were facing things they never thought they would ever have to deal with. These were not just characters in a book to me but real people with real problems.

Warning: These stories are for Mature Audiences due Violence, Adult Language, and Sexual Situations.

My favorite escape books are thrillers, especially spy stories, and even better high tech ones. These three books are all of those things, with very real characters. I am looking forward to reading more from Hanson.
5.0 out of 5 stars Masterful Action Series with Romance and a Dab of Science Fiction 28 July 2016

Great stories, exceptionally well written. Helen Hanson keeps the pace fast. Her hero, Clint Masters, is smart, rich, tough, admirable, a romantic with a techno-bent.

Character drives the action, and the events shape character, just as in real life; the three books cover very different phases of Clint's life, with love lost and found and success found and lost. Don't miss it!

The series is a real bargain, and I've found a new-favorite author.

This series is wonderful. The writing is fast paced and gets you quickly invested in the story. Modern plots and very relatable characters and adversities. Each of these books stand well on there own. I happened to read 3 Lies first and then bought the set to read the next two. Getting all three together for as good as they are is great. I like books with feeling that get me feeling as well.
