Great supernatural/ greek myth/ romance. Loved it from beginning to end, the story was well paced and the characters were great. If you love a hot greek hero and a half human heroine with a hot love story thrown in then this one's for you.

I found this book to be intriguing from the very beginning, although you need your wits about you to absorb all the clues to what is happening as the author bounces back and forth drip feeding the reader information with enough tantalisation to keep you transfixed to the end.

I have heard of Elizabeth Naughton before but had never read one of her book's, well now I am going to have trouble putting down her book's, this Author has an amazing talent with her natural ability of drawing her reader's into this intriguing world of mythology, mystery and prophesies.
I read her book in one sitting, impossible to put the book down, after getting to know the two main characters with everything that was being thrown in their direction, I found I had to know exactly where this storyline was going and see if what they both hoped for could be achieved, regardless of divine destinies including intervention by the fates.
Theron and Acacia are a couple who seem to be world's appart, even though they are definitely attracted to each other it seems as though they have far to much going against them including immortal beings who are determined to interfere with any possible "Happy ever After" to ever consider getting together, even though Acacia has a tenacious personality, you can't help but empathize with what appears to be impossible odds, with them ever achieving anything close to what they want.
Ms Naughton has the uncanny ability to draw you deeply into the magical world she has created, when you suddenly find yourself completely ensnared within the dramatic action and fast paced events that develops into a whirlwind of adrenaline packed adventure and intriguing scenarios that are impossible to turn away from.
She developed this storyline in such a way that you're caught up in this magnificent web she has created, finding yourself understanding and experiencing a great deal of what these fascinating characters are personally going through. Along with the excitement and passionate encounters that play a major role in the world of mythological guardian’s, with the ongoing games played by those who have the power, it's almost unbelievable to think a mere human being can have any effect in this game that's being played.
Unaware Acacia gets caught up in this intriguing plot, it has been masterfully woven around those who have been chosen to play their part, that once her eyrs are opened, you can't help but be pulled further into the lives of those who are involved while knowing they are being manipulated, you become invested in the emotions of those who are important to you.
You can almost taste some of what this Author describes, such is the quality of her narrative description, capturing everything in minute details while giving us numerous surprises as you delve further into the lives and plots of those under the gods manipulations.
I cannot emphasize enough how brilliantly written on a number of levels this world of mystical beings, magical adventure and scenarios, that even the mightiest Guardians of this world appear to be at a loss as to how to deal with the hand they have been delt.
Played as pieces on a chess board, this action has caused a domino effect from designs that began over a millennia ago. Everyone who's lives have been deeply effected by the actions of other's, refuse to follow the decisions that have been put in place, therefore trying to put this book away before I could at least see a light at the end of the tunnel, was not possible. This storyline and plot has been designed to encapture the audience, which it definately has, with the creativity and imagery relayed to us by this talented Author, you find yourself coming up with different idea's that might work, hoping for a HEA.
I highly recommend anyone who wants to be involved in the world of mystical mythology, calculated dramatic mystery along with plenty of action, DO NOT PASS THIS BOOK BY, or you will surely miss the excitement found on these superbly written pages.

This free book was a lovely surprise. I enjoyed it from the very first chapter. All the characters were interesting and they are all obviously going to have their own stories.
This story is all about Theron and Casey both strong and stubborn but don't give up in what they believe in.
The storyline is fast paced and interesting. All the Greek Gods and other characters could be a little confusing but all becomes clearer as the story progresses and because I have read numerous stories about this subject it is a bit easier. The descriptions of Argolea, the colony and even the underworld are wonderful.
This was a light easy read, a bit predictable, a little repetitive in some places but it didn't spoil the read.
I would recommend this book and I definitely want to read more of this series.

Short, sharp and very entertaining!

This book is a very entertaining read. It is a short action packed sassy love story, with just enough passion to keep you on the edge without being 50 shades darker (pun intended). It grabs you if you can get past the first chapter, and just when you're craving more...it ends. The good news the other series connects all the characters so the plot continues at a different angle with the other characters you were introduced to , now taking center stage. If you crave a longer plot and detailed story this is not for you if you crave a short imaginative, sexy, action packed holiday read...then buy this book.

Wonderful first book in the Eternal Guardians Series

Thank you Elisabeth Naughton for a great first book in the Eternal Guardians series, I cannot wait to read the next in the series.
I just loved this first story - a strong, drop dead gorgeous alpha male, Theron and a spunky, strong female, Acacia (Casey). There was a fair amount of scene setting in this book, but I didn't find that it detracted from the main story, that of the relationship between Theron and Casey. All the elements that I love in this type of book were all there, a good balance between the hot, romatic love story, the battles between good versus evil and the other-world scene setting. I was able to just lose myself in the story and escape to their world.

A Fantastic Paranormal Romance!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 January 2015Verified Purchase
This is the first book in the Eternal Guardians series. I really enjoyed it!
My sister recommended this series to me as she had read them all (that have been released so far) and thought I would enjoy it. I downloaded this as an audiobook, as it was also recommended by Audible due to my browsing history. How's that for a coincidence?
I started to listen and was quickly pulled into the story. The narrator, Elizabeth Wiley, did a wonderful job in telling the story, but I'm afraid her attempt at foreign accents sounded a bit odd and I would have preferred if she hadn't attempted it at all. Nevertheless, her narration was crystal clear and her tone and modulation for the various characters brought them to life.
Acacia "Casey" Simopolus is a wonderful character. I really liked her. She is not your average wimpy type. She is more kick ass than mousy, which helps when dealing with unruly drunks at the bar she works part time in. But when a mysterious stranger saves her and she later returns the favour, she finds herself thrust into a dangerous world where immortal guardians protect the human population from demons sent from the Underworld.
Theron is a character I wasn't sure if I liked or not. To me, he comes across as very controlling, arrogant and sexist (mostly old fashioned sexism) at times, which made me want to punch him, and I'm not normally a violent person. He is a descendant of Hercules and the leader of a group of guardians, who "police" the demons sent by Hades to the human realm. He and his fellow Argonauts live in Argolea, a city which is in another dimension. When he meets Casey, his life takes an unexpected turn. Could he kill his soul mate to protect his home?
This story is mostly a typical paranormal romance, with lots of action and danger mixed in. However, there are several twists and turns that keep one guessing at what is really going on. There are a few characters other than Casey and Theron who have their say in this book too, which gave this story a more rounded feel. I was intrigued with Isadora, who, although a princess, seemed to have a very weak character and let herself get pushed around, especially by her father King Leonidas. However, she has a core of steel that she did not expose for most of the story, and I actually wrote her off as pathetic because of her lack of back bone. BUT, when she did show her metal, WOW! I certainly have now changed my mind about her! There are also a few other intriguing characters, both in the human world and in Argolea who have caught my interest, but I will leave it to you to discover them for yourselves.
One thing I will say about this story is the world building is excellent. The characters are well developed and extremely lifelike. I have always been intrigued with Greek gods and their offspring such as Hercules, whose exploits became legend (or are they myth?) over time. So reading about his descendants, who were with Jason on his voyage for the Golden Fleece, excited me. I am also a huge sucker for paranormal romances in general, so I am looking forward to continuing with this series and I will (hopefully) get to read/listen to Entwined as soon as I can.
Elisabeth Naughton has written an exciting start to a series. I love her fast paced writing style and the flow is wonderful. I will be continuing to read this series, but I do have one of her romantic suspense novels sitting on my Kindle, which I hope to now read in the near future too!
Due to scenes of a sexual nature that are on the explicit side, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love erotic paranormal romances. - Lynn Worton

Very disappointing!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 July 2017Verified Purchase
I am so, so disappointed with this book. I haven't finished it yet and it's been over a week, usually I can get through a book in a day or two but this I am really struggling with. I am an avid reader of paranormal romance or fantasy romance but I just can't get in to the characters in this book.
There is no real depth to the relationships or the supposed attraction - a major no no for any book of this genre.
I will struggle on with it for a bit longer but I doubt I will finish it so I wouldn't recommend. Stick to Kresley Cole, Sherrilyn Kenyon or Gena Showalter as the stories are better.
