I am not dissapointed. The pigment load is very high. A little really does go a long way.
The colours are intense and vibrant. Not clear if more so then DS paints. They do seem to flow better but the difference is not huge so if you are a DS or WN fan you’re not missing out on something revolutionary.
The colours in this set are beautiful.
The sap green is close to the DS sap green but the MG has less of a yellow shade. I prefer the MG but it’s not a big difference.
The MG dioxazine purple is almost identical to the DS carbazole violet. Possibly the MG is a tad more grey ( really really close )
The yellow ocre is very rich. It’s more yellow and deeper in intensity than WN ( I don’t have a DS to compare with )
Generally I find all the WN colours less intense, beautiful but less intense.
The anthroqunone blue is a stunning colour. LOVE it
The neutral tint has a lavender undertone
As they have honey in them the paints don’t dry out hard like DS and WN. The paint on your paintings does dry no worries about that. If you touch your the paint out of your tube in your palette ( in a lump ) it’s tacky days later. It reconstitutes quicker/easier than DS and WN. This is not something i give a thumbs up or a thumbs down to its just different and people may prefer one to the other.
Overall very impressed and will order additional colours to supplement my options. Definitely a top notch watercolour paint
One thing to note: The downside to this paint is that these paints don’t dry completely when poured onto a pan. So, when travelling with these during very warm/hot weather, there’s a very good chance of the paint liquefying and creating a mess. So, I think these paints are more suitable for studio work.
