The book is enchanting. the drawings are excellent. Your kids will love it...particularly if you live in the city as it tells you how beautiful living in the desert can be. It also shows you that even in dog land, there is no place like home.

Written from the perspective of Lulu the dog, I took such delight in reading this children’s trilogy. I must confess, I do love dogs but the stories came from an innocent authenticity that completely captured my imagination about how it must for a dog. Born in the vast desert of Central Australia, taking the drive to the Big Smoke of Melbourne this simple story takes on epic proportions for young Lulu dog. The second book takes on the sweetness of family life and how practical puppy parenting unfolds. After many delights and challenges Lulu reminisces about family life. In the final story Lulu reveals how she became a sea dog instead of a desert dog. She shares how frightening she found the sea journey and the relief of stepping onto dry land. As she settles in to the new place she realises that she has grown in wisdom and that her dear Nanna Lassie would be proud of her.

When Magaer Lennox asked me whether I would illustrate her delightful children's adventure stories about an 'outback dog', I couldn't wait to get started. Although written for very young children, the stories soon had me captivated, and what followed were some fondly remembered months of creating scenes with pencil on paper, which Magaer then digitally colourized at a later stage. The tales are thorroughly enjoyable for children of all ages.

really sweet with fab illustrationsReviewed in the United States on 29 April 2017
Such a sweet & fun story about a dog (and her family) in Australia (city & outback). And I really love the wonderful illustrations – makes me homesick! Also it's great that non-Australian kids get to see just how different the landscape is there. I've read them all :)
