Who is after the Lucifer gospel and how can Finn stop them? Did Jesus write a gospel and if so, why call it the Lucifer gospel? ... I'm not sure that is answered, but the rushing around to try and keep it out of the hands of the baddies is worth a read.

A good read but equires too much suspension of belief for the genre.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 April 2016Verified Purchase
I've read a number of other books by this author from the Doc Holliday series so I thought I'd try a different set of characters. Early on the plot is engaging and the story progresses at a pace, however about two thirds of the way through the changes in location and then the subsequent discoveries do require the reader to disappointingly suspend belief for such a large object to remain undiscovered under water only 150ft down for 60 years and then for a room that's been underwater for that time to be in good enough condition to give the details the author offers was too much. Also the sets of skills that the two protagonist just happen to have as the plot develops is too implausible. The main protagonists' final escape is also a step too far for belief that one let alone both survive. These unrealistic elements, even for what passes in this genre from this and other authors, spoils what is otherwise a good read.

A Little Lightweight
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 July 2013Verified Purchase
This is the third book by Paul Christopher that I have now read and whilst I find this particular book on a par with what I have read of this author to date, it would certainly have benefitted from explaining the thinking behind the title in a little more detail.
For those not familiar, it would be very easy to assume that this has something to do with Old Nick himself! The fact, though, is that it does not and that it takes in much deeper issues which, with a more in depth detail, would have turned this book into meriting the whole 5 stars.
Certainly, as a lightweight holiday read, it certainly is on a par with many contemporary writers and is no more taxing on the old grey matter. But, for me, I prefer a little more meat on the bone in terms of background to what is, after all a very deep subject, whether you be a believer or not.
If you like your read to be a fast paced page turner, then this will certainly be for you - but if you prefer something a little more thought provoking, then look elsewhere!

Looking for the tomb of an apostle and finding a medallion leads her and photographer Virgil into more intrigue and mystery. Scary thriller of a book but couldn't put it down.
