Product Description

Fifteen years ago, they lost each other. Can they find their way back together now?

When they were teens, James Pearson and Michael Hawthorne had been lovers.
But James left their hometown to study archeology. Michael planned to do the same, but life got in the way.
Now Michael spends his days guiding tourists through the ruins of the ancient buildings of the Hohokam; not knowing that James, now Dr. Pearson, just came back to Arizona to work at the same museum.

They once shared a love story, but can they find it again and rekindle its flames? Flames that are strong enough to burn through a fifteen-year-old gap?

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my cup of tea 18 January 2017

I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.

I want to be able to say I loved this book, but it just wasn't for me.

If all you are interested in is a short fluff, with a HEA, then you may enjoy this story. Even if novellas and short stories, I prefer more character development. The sex was hot, though, if that is all you are chasing.

I felt the pacing was a bit confusing, and the character development was pretty non-existent. We saw a small backstory, a small description of where they are now, and then an oh-so-fast coupling, and back into bed after 15 years. I didn't get a feel for either Michael of James, which was disappointing for me. I love a story where I get to know the characters.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this story.

2.0 out of 5 stars Say what again? 21 April 2017

Loving History is an mildly entertaining story that occasionally veers off into too many contradictory (and slightly surreal) directions to keep me engaged in the plot line.

Michael has serious issues about money that pop up over and over again. He agonizes over how to pay an eleven hundred dollar vet bill, freaks out when James pays it, throws a huge hissy fit over being taken out to dinner and then calmly thanks James for the tempting offer when he suggests Michael moves in so he can support Michael financially while he goes to school. And if that's not bizarre enough, the vet thinks James is probably Michael's boyfriend but "could be a mafia boss and have a hold over you for all I know" because he wants to pay the cat's bill...... seriously?

This is a story about two people who when young were best friends who turned into lovers. They broke up when it was time to go to college. Neither wanting to, but one decided it was the best thing for both of them. One had a very hard time and never really moved on. The other followed his dreams.

They come together after 15yrs. What does one do when your faced with the love of your life? Nothing comes easy.

I adore these two men and the strength it took for them to overcome their painful past and forgive each other and reach into their hearts and discover they don't want to live without the other.....the beauty of Michael accepting James' help and the unconditional love James is willing to shower Michael with make this a true romance! Loved it!! I voluntarily read and reviewed this gifted copy.

This was a great book. It was good to see how even though 15 years had passed before Michael saw James again, they were able to rekindle their friendship and love. It was hard for Michael because he had not been able to realize his dream of becoming an archeologist due to family obligations. However, in the end love prevailed. I would recommend this book to others. JN
