Southern Boys was the first series I have read from Harms and I must say that I'm impressed I loved all three books but I must say that Loving Colt was by far my favourite little Maddi is a gorgeous fun and sweet little ladybug and the way Colt is taken with her from the start is just pure sweetness. Alexis is a strong and independent women who is a little broken when she first meets Colt but falls in love with and and the small town of Brooklet. this an amazing and sweet romantic book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic addition to this series! This is a great story, and I loved the characters! One of my favorite series ever! 17 March 2015

Review for Ramblings From This Chick.

Loving Colt is the third book in the Southern Boys series by C.A. Harms. I have loved this series since I read the first book, and this book was no exception. Though this book can be read as a standalone, I think that readers will get the best enjoyment from this series by reading them in order. The characters are interconnected, so there will be some things spoiled if you don't start at the beginning. I don't know how C.A. Harms does it, but each book in this book is as good if not better than the last. I cannot recommend this series enough if you are looking for good contemporary romance stories filled with love and hope, and good southern boys that know how to love their women right.

On the run from her abusive ex, Alexis wants nothing more than to keep her daughter safe and happy. When she stops in a small town in Georgia on the way to her family in Florida, she never expected to meet a man that would so completely change her life. Alexis quickly bonds with not only Colt, but also his family. When Colt finds out about Alex's past, he knows that he needs to take things slow with her. But the more that he spends time with her and her daughter, the harder he falls for them. But with Alex's ex still out there, will they ever be safe?

I loved Colt! He was such an amazing guy. Strong and sexy, yet so sweet and gentle with Alex and Maddison. He was protective and caring, and had such an instant connection with both of them. I loved how he was with Alexis, but he really won me over with how quickly he took to Maddison. He loved her just as much as Alexis, and they were so adorable together. He was such a great dad to her. Colt had so much love to give, and it was really great to see him find his perfect match. Alexis was strong and such a great mom. She had been through so much pain at a relatively young age, and yet she had such a great head on her shoulders. Her number one priority was her daughter, and I really admired that about her. She always put her little girl first, and she knew that whatever she did with her life would affect Maddison. She had grown to have trust issues with men after all that she had been through, but I liked that she knew Colt was different. She was still wary of him in the beginning, but you could tell that she also felt such a strong connection to him and that he was someone that she could count on. Colt and Alexis were great together and I loved the chemistry between them. But they also were so connected to Maddison that it just felt like everything that had happened to them all had led up to them becoming a family.

Overall, I absolutely love this series and everything I have read from C.A. Harms. She always delivers such heartfelt and emotional stories that feel real and believable. The characters are always deep, and I am instantly invested in their stories. It was great to see familiar faces in this book, but I really liked getting to meet some new ones as well. After reading Loving Colt, I really hope that C.A. Harms will write books for Alexis's brother Jett and her sister Harper. They were great, and I just know that they each have a lot more to them than we know yet. I especially liked Jett and I think he deserves his own HEA. If you haven't read anything by C.A. Harms yet, I think that this series is a great place to start. I have loved every single book in the series, and these characters are some of my all time favorites! I know that I will read more from C.A. Harms in the future, and I honestly cannot wait to see what she writes next!

5.0 out of 5 stars A cowboy after my heart 15 March 2015

Loving Colt is a heartwarming romance of a man that has given up on love and a mother running to protect her daughter. As with the last two books I feel in love with the southern boys again. As always Ms. Harms delivers a story of love and romance that will tug at your heart and have you finding the tissue. It took me all of two hours to finish this book that just held my attention and did not let go .

There was not a part of Alexis and Colt story that I did not love or that did not touch me. 25% into the story of Colt and Alexis and I knew that this book was going to top the others. Alexis is running from a man she thought loved her but only wanted to abuse her. So with her small daughter she stops in a small time not knowing that even though she wasn’t looking love has a way of finding her and her daughter.
Colt wasn’t looking for love or even thought he was interested in finding something Permanente but seeing the beautiful woman and her small daughter in need he can’t help but reach out because sometimes people have a way of affecting us more than others and he can’t help but fall for the beautiful Alexis and her daughter Maddison.
Colt and Alexis go through some rough patches due to misunderstanding and a crazy ex but throughout the story they manage to capture your attention and heart all keeping you emotionally invested in the story. I will always recommend the Southern boys series because not only will you fall in love with the characters all over again but if you love a great love story that will make you believe that sometimes love really does happen at first sight then this is the story for you. This is a HEA that can be read alone but I would say read the first two books to meet the characters that play a part in this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love me some cowboys! 11 March 2015
By Nessa's Book Reviews - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I have told myself a thousand times, I need to start from the beginning of a series. I never had that problem before. I don’t know what is wrong with me right now. I seriously need to read the first two book in this series. For one it’s about cowboys and two their cowboys.

Loving Colt was a sweet read with a hint of drama thrown in there.

Alexis is running far away from her ex Seth because he doesn’t know the meaning of it’s over. She needs to protect herself and her daughter Maddison, so she packs up her car and leaves. When she stops in a small town, she is overwhelmed by the kindness the people there show her and her daughter. Colt grabs her attention and doesn’t let go, but she doesn’t want to give herself to another man.

Colt is that sweet cowboy who helps his mother and adores kids. (swoon) When he first sees Alexis he buys her lunch and wants nothing in return. The next time he sees her, Alexis is staying at his mothers home and he is hopeful that they can start a relationship since it seems she is staying in town.

After one date and Alexis wanting to stay only friends, Colt avoids her, only to find out that she went to her parents house in Florida. Will Colt follow after her or leave well enough alone?

I enjoyed this book. It was sweet and romantic. It told the story of a woman strong enough to leave an abusive ex. I loved Maddison, she was just an adorable little cutie pie. Let’s not forget about Colt. I seriously need that kind of cowboy in my life.

I could have did without the insta love, but it fit with this story and I am glad that both Colt and Alexis got the love they were looking for. Colt’s character gives you hope that there is one good man out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars As always CA Harms delivers a story full of just enough everything to make you fall in love , devour and become addicted 20 February 2015
By amie - Published on

This is my 11th read/review for this author !! I think I may kinda like her !! Once again she has won me over and given me a book I can devour in a matter of hours. I don't know where she is going next but I know I will be following her !!

Alex has suffered loss and now abuse. She has left her home and is taking her daughter Maddison on a road trip to her families home across the USA. Hardly any cash and hoping to not be found this is a struggle for them and it is a heartbreaking piece of the story. A bathroom pit stop lands them in small town diner where none other than the town hottie Colt is there to pay her bill and have one of those strange instant connections. Deciding to stay in town Alex quickly realizes that her run in with Colt may just change her life FINALLY for the better. Now it wouldn't be a CA HArms book without many hurdles , drama , hotness and heartache. Alex does not trust easily and with her ex on the hunt she is living in fear which obviously prevents anyone from true happiness. Can this small town full of loving people help heal Alex or will a simple misunderstanding drive her away without giving her a chance for happiness ??

Colt is Maria's brother , we met him in her book and honestly I knew I would love more from him. He is a craftsman , building furniture in town that everyone loves. He is a very living guy , always protecting his family/friends and their children. he loves him mother dearly and of course he is a HOT AS SIN SOUTHERN GUY !! His life has not been perfect and he is not looking for love at all. Something about Alex has him yearning to protect her and Maddison and of course once he gets to know her and about her past he realizes his instincts were spot on. Can Colt and Alex heal each other and build that HEA they both realize they want so badly ??

I love these two together. Alex and I had a few things in common and I could really feel her pain and fear. There is emotion pouring out all over this story and CA makes it so easy to connect with her characters. Seeing the way Colt is with Maddison , seeing how his family just takes them in and treats them as their own is such a beautiful thing. Never any judgement or badgering. As always with a CA book we get a glimpse at all the previous characters , which I love , and a possible lead in for what will come next !!
