The Lovers: Cards of Love by Fiona Cole (Goodreads Author) U 50x66 Karen Moriarty's review Oct 24, 2018 · edit it was amazing Read 2 times
This was another amazing read from Fiona Cole.. Seriously she just keeps getting better..
Jackson Fields who we briefly met in Voyeur is the star of this book and he is all kinds of hotness. We meet Jackson and his college best friend Jake who are all kinds of sexy themselves but after a dare they fall out of each others lives.. Roll on five years when Jake and his fiance'e Carina are hired specifically, to help get a new nightclub which is an off shoot to Voyeur up and running which just happens to be co owned and will be run by Jackson Fields.. AKA Jakes former best college friend..
Now all the players have assembled we start to learn about the past relationship between Jake and Jackson and also the current relationship between Jake and Carina..
With Carina finding our about Club Voyeur her interests are piqued when she witnesses first hand what happens in this very exclusive club and wants to inject some of that sexiness into her relationship with Jake.. She wants more than just friends she wants more passion, and when she learns that Jackson use to perform at Voyeur well that just gets her all kind of intrigued and then asks Jake who is always up for some adventure in the bedroom if he would entertain the idea of maybe upping the anti from just toys to maybe a third person..
With a game of Truth or Dare this sets the wheels in motion.. This book is full of hot steamy Menag'e escapades that keep you hot and happy.. Once l started this book l had to binge it thru to the end. I found myself yelling at each of these characters for the choices they were making and wanting to equally what them and then hug them..
As the connections grow and they become invested in this new lifestyle, emotions change and ultimately relationships are tested. This was one of those reads where you started reading it thinking you new what was going to happen only to have it completely flip around on you. And Jake's Mom was an absolute delight.. Made me laugh out loud before l cried buckets..
This book had it all for me and l have to say this is my all time favourite read from this author.I so can't wait for the next book.. A five star author me.....
The Lovers by Fiona Cole, has to be one of the best ménage stories I have read by far.
With endless choices out there, I struggle to find one that is actually credible.
Not only was this story so hot I was chewing ice cubes while reading, it hit me in the gut with all the feels between each character. Their feelings of lust, friendship and ultimately attaining their one true love overwhelmed me. I thought this was perfectly written and the ending for me….. was meant to be.
Holy heck! You know, I didn’t even read the blurb on this one. I had read that it was a MMF type romance and I just knew I wanted to dive into it. I had never read a book written by this author before but I am delighted to say she has found a fan for life!
I was expecting one thing about this story, hot MMF scenes, and that is what I got. It. Was. Hot! I did not however, expect the twist that I got. But oh my goodness this book just hit my top favourite reads EVER. I loved the swirls of emotions from all the characters, it all felt so real. Real reactions, real connections, real angst. I just loved it ALL.
I want to say so much about this story but I do not want to give anything away so I will just stick to vague reviewing! I loved the characters, they made me feel so much. I was hurt for Jackson a couple of times but those times were redeemed and I understood why they happened. I can not wait to read more from this author, and I am so excited that I have many books of hers to go back and read. This book is worth 100 stars out of 5 for me.
While a storm raged outside my house, a storm brewed in my head as I was reading this book. Holy hell this story was intense!
We first met Jackson in Voyeur and now we finally get his story!! *happy dance*
Carina and Jake are engaged, work together for the family business and have been friends for a long time. But when things feel a little bit disengaged between the couple, Carina starts having thoughts of ways to bring them closer. Jake tries to hide his feelings, but after reconnecting with Jackson, a game of truth or dare finds the three of them having a wild passionate night.
But what happens when past love returns and feelings deepen?
Once again Fiona Cole captured the perfect story line with her words and turned it into a masterpiece!
This story had me hooked from the first page and I was so absorbed in their world.
If I could give this more than 5 Stars I would! Definitely one of my favourite reads this year and so worth the wait ❤️❤️
She is one of the only authors who can make me equal parts horny & emotional !!! She's a word wizard I tell you - just magic. This one is not your average MMF - it's so much more. So many feels, so much history and chemistry so hot that it might just blow up your kindle. Straight into my 2018 Favourites for this little bundle of deliciousness!!
I fell in love with Jackson's character in Voyeur. I knew there was more to this dirty boy than met the eye and I was right. This is his story. His love story. Not always pretty and not always nice but isn't that the case with all the best love stories. I think so.
You definitely get the heat you'd expect from a MMF read but because it's Fiona, you also get that balanced with delicious angst and a dash of pain. Everyone deserves their HEA, but will they get it? A story where a simple game of truth or dare changes three people's lives forever. Filthy Perfection!
I loved every second of this book. I wished I wasn’t so busy and could just sit and fully enjoy the writing and the story. Carina and Jake are engaged but both can feel there’s a spark missing. While working a new project at work they run into Jake’s bff from College. This is when we discover that Jake and Jackson had a very intimate moment that led to Jake running away from their friendship. Carina suggests that Jackson could be their third wheel to help spice up their relationship only for Jake and Jackson to fall in love and Carina left on the outer. I loved the 3 perspectives given in this book. Nothing was breezed over and everything was discussed, from Carina feeling betrayed by her fiancé and new friend, to Jake’s crisis at ‘not being gay’. I would love to see Carina’s HEA but I thought Jake and Jackson’s was beautiful.
Well this book was one hell of an introduction to this author. This author is new to me but after reading this book that will definetly be changing. The passion and emotion in this story was just wow I laughed, cried, scowled, blushed and spent alot of time not knowing how I felt. I loved the story and the characters were amazing. I only had one complaint and that's that I wanted more of a certain characters story but other then that I really really enjoyed this book.
