5.0 out of 5 stars This series just keeps getting better and better! I'd give this book ten stars, if it was allowed. 5 March 2015

I don't know where to start, because I LOVED everything about this book. The Abbott family is so wonderful. They are all so boisterous, loving, caring, and some are even outlandish at times, but as far as I'm concerned...they are the kind of family most people dream of having.

This is book #4 of the series involving Hunter who is the oldest of ten children in the Abbott family. He is also completely different from all of the rest of his family members. He's always so serious, responsible, hard working, and really....sort of quiet and reserved. But that's not all...while everyone else dresses in jeans and flannel shirts, Hunter always dresses like he's just stepped in from a GQ photo shoot, no matter what the occassion may be.

Hunter been infatuated with Megan (the waitress who works at her sisters diner across the street) for years and years, but she has always had her sites set on his brother Will. He leaves work really late one night only to find Megan crying her heart out, right behind the family business. After consoling her, he offers to share his Pizza and salad with him back at his house. After she calms down they eat and then they talk things out. But Hunter notices that she is trying to keep him at a distance. After years of waiting in the wings, he's not about to let that happen. This is his chance to finally make her, his. He's bound and determined to find a way to crash through those walls. He's waited for years for the chance to get close to her, and he's ready and willing climb mountains to scale those walls she's built around her, if he has to.

Megan is reluctant to get involved with anyone right now. Everyone she's ever loved has either died or just left her behind. Her parents died in a car crash one snowy night when she was still a senor in high school. Her older sister, Nina was finishing her senoir year in college when this all went down. One night Nina and her husband told her that they have decided to move to France, after he was offered a teaching position, and that they will be leaving in a little over a weeks time. That means she'll not only be left all alone again, but she'll also be out of a job, too. Her heart can't take anymore hurt, so keeping her distance from everyone is the only way she knows how to survive. Hunter may be kind, understanding, funny, and very good looking, but he's also has the ability to break her heart if she lets him get to close. That's not going to happen, if she has anything to say about it.

Like I stated up above; I loved everything about this book, but I don't want to say too much for fear of giving away the story. I will say that I loved the inneraction between these two throughout the whole book, and the sparks that flew between the two of them whenever they were in the same room, could have easily started a huge firestorm. And OMG....their adventure to "The Pigs Belly" had me rolling on the floor one minute, and fanning myself the next.

I love this series because even though this story is basically focused on mainly this particular couple, Marie let's us also catch back up with the people in the past books, too. All the lovable seconary characters, all help to make this series very interesting at times, too. Lincoln and Elmers scheming against the children's backs. The bickering between the children (all in good nature, of course) just makes it all seem so much more real. If any of you come from a big family, like I do, then you know what I mean. And then there's Molly, who rules the roost like a drill sargent, and Fred who is always so hysterical!

I can't wait to read the next book, so don't make us wait to long, Marie. Please? I highly recommend this book, as well as this whole series, to everyone.

2.0 out of 5 stars EEEEWWWWWWWW-Was this a ghost writer for Marie? 11 August 2015

I have tried for months to finish this book and I just can't stay interested in these 2 characters. The previous books have had a plot, have been funny and I was genuinely interested in the characters. Not so in this one. Why would a 35 year old stay so "in love" with the Megan character? In previous books she's been described as hateful, mean, vindictive, etc. Then we get more description of her background of the tragic loss of her parents as an excuse to her promiscuity. So she swears off sex, but dives right in on first date with Hunter. WHAT? Ewwwww was all I could say throughout the rest of what I read. I still have at least 1/4 of the book left and it's been how many months since it's release? I usually finish Marie's books within hours of their release. Not this one. I hope Ella & Gavin's story is actually a story. Not a recommend from me.
5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Abbott Story that should not be missed! 4 March 2015

Marie Force has written another hit for her Green Mountain Series. In this book we finally get to see Hunter and Megan's story. For as long as he can remember, he has had an interest in Megan, but she has been too blinded by her interest in his brother Will.

As the oldest of ten, Hunter prides himself on taking care of those he loves, even before considering his own needs. When Hunter walks outside one evening after work and finds Megan very upset after hearing some life altering news, he is determined to help her. In this, he is also determined to do whatever it takes to prove he is the man for her. In dealing with issues from her past, Megan is afraid to trust and allow people in because everyone from her past has left her to some degree or another. Will she be able to move forward from her past to have any future with Hunter?

This book grips you from the beginning. Marie Force's ability to write about characters continues to astound me. Not only does she write a beautiful story about Hunter and Megan, but she fills us in on the other Abbotts as well. The story lines run deep and are filled with love and laughter. While reading this book I laughed, I cried, I laughed so much I cried. I would definitely recommend this book for everyone to read! Well Done Marie!

Every one of the stories of Green Mtn. Abbott's are my favorites! But, Will and Cam, and Hunter and Megan were my favorite characters in the series. With all the snowstorms we've been having in the NE, it's so comforting to grab a hot chocolate and get a glimpse of a wonderful family full of love. I so enjoy their banter back and forth and yet at the end of the day, their fierce undying loyalty. In this romance, it's not just about Hunter and Megan which BTW are steamy and the ultimate in romantic, but it's about a moose named Fred who takes a chance on making his intentions known on his crush. Loved this book and all the rest, you will too. I can't wait to read about Will and Cams wedding in the anthology "You'll be Mine". Absolutely love hearing about Patrick Murphy, the billionaire coming down to earth with his daughter. He needs his own romance too! He's been couped up in his ivory tower alone for way too long thinking only about dollars and cents. He has a heart deep inside. Join the incredible Abbott family in this won't regret it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, sweet, sassy! Can't help falling more in love with the Abbotts! 6 March 2015

Hunter was always so intriguing to me... In a family full of rugged males and sassy females, the seemingly laid back Vermont setting, and a family store business, he seemed the most different. He certainly dressed more stylishly and seemed more worldly. From the previous books in the series, we knew he's into Megan but she doesn't seem to notice him in that way. So I was really excited to finally read their story. True to form, Marie delivers a sweet, always funny, and touching story. Hunter isn't all that different from his siblings it turns out. Beneath that flashy exterior is someone who's sweet, romantic, demanding, and loyal. Also, Megan has redeemed herself to me. LOL Hunter and Megan are perfect for each other.

I also love reading about Will and Cam and Nolan and Hannah. More Colton and Lucy, though, please!!!

Loved this book and I love the Abbotts more and more as the series progresses! Can't wait for the Will and Cam novella!
