Never fall in love with your best friend's little sister...

This winter, everything is going to change. And when the snow stops falling, Jake and Dani won't be able to hide from their attraction any longer.

Jake has loved Dani since she was 17, his perfect woman, shame he felt like a dirty old man because he was 25, but he let it be, biding his time, hoping one day she'd notice, he's been waiting 8 long years. Dani has loved Jake for nearly as long as she could remember, with the exception of one night where he confessed he had feelings 5 years ago, but now it's time to cut her losses and move on.

I loved this book, and I especially loved Jake, big tough macho guy with a heart of gold and a massive fantasy knowing exactly what and who he wants. I must admit there was a part of the story I got peeved, not at Zoe, but Dani's mother, Zoe had written her so well, that it made me sad (you'll understand when you read it)

5.0 out of 5 stars This will definitely warm you up... loved it! 17 December 2014

I fell in love with this series with book one... Love in a Small Town... so book two was a must read and it did not disappoint. Dani and Jake had the steam rolling off the pages and melting the snow away... very sexy read!
Jake has always been attracted to Dani since she was in high school and it bothered him because he knew he was too old for her. Not to mention, she has a few brothers that would not approve! Especially in this small town where everyone knows everything about everybody.
He forced himself to walk away from her but was never able to really move on to anyone else. Sometimes the needs of the heart overpowers the logic of the mind. The heart wants what it wants...
Turns out, all they really needed was time. Now that Dani is all grown up, she and Jake find themselves facing a truth that has long been kept under lock and key and they finally decide to take a chance on each other despite the consequences. I loved watching this couple finally come together after so many years of waiting and longing. And, they were such a great couple.
Jake is definitely ready to settle down and start a family... will Dani want the same thing? This is where the story really won me over because what started out as an intense sexual coming together... eventually led to Jake having doubts about what Dani really wanted from him. This is where the emotions become real and their relationship is truly tested.
The story also picks up where it left off in book one with the tragic death of a friend and we also get to participate in the final Happily Ever After of Olivia and Rafe... they are still my favorite couple so far in the series. Just love those guys...
So, another great read in the Pine Harbour series... and I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment!

5.0 out of 5 stars A five star series sure to warm you up on a cold winter day!!! Don't miss this one!! 5 January 2015

This is book two in the Pine Harbour Series and can be read as a standalone.

I gave this book 5 stars.

This is Jake and Dani's story.

I loved this story so much. Jake has been in love with Dani for as long as he can remember, problem is she is younger then him. So much so that if he did make a move it would not look well. So he waits. It kills him, but he does. He doesn't seem to realize that Dani is feeling the same thing about him. Another problem she is the baby sister of his very best friends. So he swallows his attractions and ignores how he is really feeling. If he gives in it could ruin everything in his life. Later in the future after watching her with boyfriend after boyfriend Jake cannot take it anymore. But what happens when he gives in to his feelings. Is it too late? Is Dani tired of waiting for him to figure this out? What will her brothers do? And in a small town how will they all react when they see him with Dani?

This book was so beautifully written and had me captivated right from the start. I loved the first book, and enjoyed this one just as much. Give this series a chance and pick the books up .. I recommend reading book one as well definitely a five star series.

Thank you Zoe for an amazing series.. I hope we get another book soon! I will be a reader for life!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy Friends to Lovers romance! 17 December 2014

This sexy small town romance is the story of Dani and Jake. Dani's had a crush on Jake forever, but the 8 years separating them and the fact that he's her brother's best friend has meant she's spent a long time trying to get him out of her system. But when Jake is finally ready to ante up and show Dani that he's not going to run from his feelings for her anymore, is it too little too late?

I loved this story! Zoe has the knack of creating characters that the reader wants to know about - their hopes, their loves, their dreams and their failures. Though Dani started out with a teenage crush on Jake, it's morphed into something much more adult and finally (finally!) Jake admits to himself that he can't resist her pull anymore. I really liked that Dani was comfortable showing Jake that she wasn't a kid, that their love scenes were between two mature consenting adults. (and yes, those love scenes are steamy!). In any relationship there is the dynamic of family in the background, and with these two, that's a significant part of the story - how it affects them and how they deal with it is part of the attraction of the story for me. There are so many characters to like in this town, shared with us via witty dialogue and friendly camaraderie, with laughter and tears. Pine Harbour is a town everyone should visit. 5 stars for this entertaining and sexy read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent example of contemporary romance 19 December 2014

This book is not what was expecting, and that is one of the many reasons I love it. Something about the title and book blurb led me to the conclusion that this would be one of those books with more than a fair share of conflict and drama. The sort of book where the hero and heroine would refuse to admit their attraction until trapped together and forced to do so.

But this book is nothing like that.

What it is, is two mature people who know who they are and what they want, and are finally really ready to commit to it and move forward. It is a beautiful and truly moving story of love and family. Which admittedly sounds sort of sappy, but I assure you, the book is anything but.

The author does an excellent job of balancing the plot between the main couple and the fairly large cast of background characters. Though I’ve not yet read the first book in the series, I found that there is just enough backstory to catch the reader up without being at all intrusive. Despite this obviously being a continuation of the story started with Love In A Small Town, the book is perfectly capable functioning as a stand alone, though I suspect that reading the books in order would provide an even greater degree of richness and history.

**For the sake of full disclosure it must be stated that I received this book, free of charge, from Netgalley.**

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent story 17 December 2014

Loved this book! Yes, it is book two in a series, but you don't need to read the previous story in order to enjoy or read this book, which I think is very important. Anyway, Jake has been in love with Dani since she was 18 but because he is older than her(and he is friends with her brothers and they would hurt him badly if he did anything about it) he has been standing by, waiting for her to grow up. Really, he isn't that much older than her but when you think of that age it can be weird. She has been attracted to him and with the help of her sister-in-law, she does something about it. This a sweet but sexy novel that caused me to go online after I read it to buy the first book. Excellent story.
