A novella on the struggle between a teenage girl wanting to grow up and live her own life and a mother’s fears for her wellbeing.
I think readers of different ages would see this story from different points of view. I could understand the mother and her anxiety she was worried about her daughter and didn’t want her to get hurt but she didn’t know how to convey this.
I did feel it wasn’t relevant to an 18yo in the 21st century – these concerns were more relevant to a 15 or 16 year old.
This is the story of an eighteen-year old woman as she battles for autonomy and a life of her own. Still living at home, under the ever-watchful eye of her domineering mother, Jenny struggles to build a life and find love. What is her destiny?
