Finian Alexander is a B list movie star on vacation in Muskoka, in order to stay in the Public Eye (and ensure the jobs keep rolling in) he must play up to his bad boy image and keep being written up in the tabloids. Unfortunately that is proving difficult, everyone is so polite and opportunities to break the rules in front of paparazzi cameras are just not occurring. Perhaps he can persuade nature photographer Hailey Summer to help him out? Hailey is desperate to earn big money to pay back taxes on the cottage on Nymph Island that she and her sisters own. So desperate that she has been considering going against her principles and turning paparazzo, but despite stalking him for days she has nothing. When he approaches her in a bar, she finds his cockiness both exiting and a turn off and ends up slapping him. This is the beginning of a relationship between them and the more Hailey gets to know him, the more she doesn't understand why he hides the "real" him. This is a sweet story about being true to oneself and standing up for what you believe in. The book also introduces the other Summer sisters who feature in the following books - Maya, Melanie, Daphne and her 5 year old daughter Tigger (real name Kim).
Finian Alexander is an actor who thinks he needs to keep his bad boy image in the public eye to keep the money rolling in. Hailey Summer is a wildlife photographer who needs to earn money fast to save the island, the family own. Fin asks Hailey to take pictures of him but they cannot agree what form these pictures should take. Bad boy or caring boy? To make matters worse Hailey finds herself falling in love with him. Plenty of action and misunderstandings to keep the reader guessing. It made a change to have a book set in Canada. I haven't come across many.

This excellent "Summer Sister" series is equally as good as her "Blueberry Springs" series, which is vibrant, funny and romantic. Movie Star meets a well reknown real life photographer on a mission to save their families' s island and cottage from the tax man by taking a scandal picture of bad movie star, Finnian Alexander. But these things tend to not always pan out and Hailey ends up falling for the gorgeous hunk and succeeds in humanising him instead. His agent however, has other ideas to keep up his bad boy image, including his ex girlfriend into the plot to keep up that image. Only to have Finn resist, as he has fallen I move with Hailey for showing him the reality of life to be able to be himself and he liked it, because deep down that is who he is. Only the y in the ointment is the paparazzi chasing their heels all the time causing chaos in their lives. The author has really captured the whole persona of this Canadian town of Muskoka, which sounds delightful, along with their 100year old island cottage which she describes so well that you feel that you are actually there, it's so real and of course Finnish comes to realise that he wants the reality of life and he also wants the gorgeous woman he has falling ion love with in his life permanently. Great read.
I found this book to be a bit boring. There was not enough meat on the characters in this book. It could have been told in half the length of the book, and it still left you hanging at the end as to the fate of the island. Then you find that there are another 3 books to read, that will probably be as interesting as this one wasn't before you finally find out about the islands future. Sorry not that desperate to find out so l shan't bother.
