The Getaway Car is amazing... I loved every bit of it. Talon and Maggie were so good together, there journey wasn't easy and one wouldn't expect it to be with how it all began.

I loved the angst the no fear the trust and the relationship that grew. The twists and turns were so good.

Leddy doesnt disappoint with yet another addictive read.

When I first bought THE GETAWAY CAR by Leddy Harper, I did not start reading right away. When I decided to start reading, I was surprised to find the book LOVE REROUTED. At first I thought I had bought the wrong book, but came to find out Leddy Harper had changed the title. Same book just with a different title. What ever title the book is under, after finishing, I really enjoyed the story.

Talon McNeil and Maggie Abrams were meant to meet on one fateful night. When Talon took one look at Maggie's bloodied face, he just knew he needed to save her. He was drowning in hopelessness and suffocating on isolation, because picking a girl up at a gas station and offering to drive her over a thousand miles away was downright reckless. They were strangers yet when Maggie's anxiety had begun to build. The only time it didn't affect her was when Talon was around. Could she really believe and depend he could save her.

They only really had two days together. But in that short amount of time, they connected on some level. It seemed to be on an intimate, personal level, except circumstances did not give them enough time to explore it. So they had something but not really sure what that something was. Since they first met, the first time he laid eyes on her, he had wanted to protect her and keep her safe. But then the unthinkable happened. She was gone. She'd stolen his car, his phone, and left him with nothing but a motel room and a nearly empty wallet. Her departure felt like a shotgun had gone off and obliterated his heart.

There are turns and twists in the story. Mystery and intrigue, and second chances. Surprises and more adventures in the getaway car. There must be some cosmic purpose for the two of them. They didn't have a clue what that might be, but they would see it through till the end.

I am not even sure where to begin with this review, except to say that I loved it. I have read just about every book that Leddy Harper has written. And I swear with every book she writes she manages to surprise me with each one. They are all different in their own way, which is what I love. But The Getaway Car isn’t just unique where Ms. Harper’s writing is concerned, for me personally this story is just different.

Maggie and Talon met at a time when they both needed to find an escape. When they first met, Maggie had bruises that concerned him in a way that really didn’t make any sense. She was a complete stranger but for some reason he wanted to save her. She needed a car to get away and he had what she needed. They only had 48 hours together but in that time they managed to feel things that neither one of them expected, until Maggie left him with nothing.

It has been four years since Talon has seen her, but when he discovers where she is, he is determined to take back what it his. But once he gets what he wants will it be that easy to walk away? They had a connection four years ago and those feelings begin to surface again when he sees her. They both have secrets but they are also both harboring feelings for each other that they both aren’t so willing to admit. When Talon gets back what was his, will they be able to walk away like nothing ever happened?

I loved this book for many reasons. I loved Talon and Maggie and the connection that they had. When you have two people who have a connection like they do and begin to have feelings all within a forty-eight hour span, you think to yourself that they have to be crazy. But it wasn’t, because everything about their connection was just so right and so real. They are certainly an intense couple but not just when it comes to their chemistry. After not seeing each other for 4 years, things aren’t all peachy between them. Talon has held onto his anger towards Maggie for 4 years and you can feel that anger in both his words. At times I didn’t know whether to love him or hate him. I understood his frustration and his reasons for feeling the way he did, but I also saw past those feelings and saw the man that we first met. The one who cares, the one that no matter how mad he is, there is still a part that cares for Maggie.

Maggie and Talon have secrets and that is the part that will keep you on the edge of your seats. I thought I knew what was going on but at the same time I knew that my guess just couldn’t be right, but when it was all revealed I had that “aha moment” and it all made sense. It was the twists and turns in this book that gave you just the right amount suspense. The back and forth between Talon and Maggie will have your emotions all over the place. You will love them, they will frustrate you but you will also feel for them in many ways. You go through the ups and downs with them. The way they met may have been unique but that's part of what made this book fantastic.

The Getaway car is a unique story that has just the right amount of drama, suspense, angst, and romance. There are twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I was completely sucked in from the beginning and did not want to let go. I loved Talon and Maggie and their story. Once gain Leddy Harper did not disappoint.

All of your favorite romance novel qualities combine to make Love Rerouted a beautifully serendipitous ride! While unwrapping the mysteries of Maggie and Talon, Leddy Harper includes a perfect combination of humor, heart, suspense, and so much angst with twists and turns along the way. This fast paced story will keep you on your toes. The prologue alone is a breathtaking introduction to Maggie and Talon. Looking at the layout I worried that the part divisions would result in a choppy story, but I should’ve known better. Love Rerouted is fantastically written with deep, strong characters.
Maggie’s having a bad day, ok, serious understatement, and Talon has nowhere to be. A chance meeting turns in to the adventure of a lifetime, until it’s not. “I’d spent many nights dreaming about being with him again, feeling his lips on mine just one more time. In those delusions, he was happy to see me. He’d let me explain why I had left and then rescued me from the nightmare I’d been in since the last time we saw each other.
That wasn’t what happened.
Not even close.”

I really liked this book and I also had mixed feelings about it. It was not divided in the traditional chapters, but rather in three main parts, with a little blurb/flashback at the end of each part. It also had a very cute epilogue.

The reason I got mixed feelings about it is because the beginning was just so very slow for me. I understood why the story progressed the way that it did, but I did find it a bit boring. I couldn’t make up my mind if I liked the characters or not and everything was just so dark and gloomy for the most part. Part One ended with a bang though and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. We started picking up the pace in Part Two. Nothing crazy, but more interesting. Then we finally got to Part Three which I loved! It was everything I wanted the entire book to be. I could’ve used a few more details here and there, but just loved how it all played out at the end.

All in all, I think it’s worth the read, especially if you are a fan of this author’s. I really like her writing style, gloomy or not :)
