Absolutely wonderful. I read it a month ago. When I log into kindle unlimited to read something else. I keep recalling scenes from this book, so I open it up to read just those scenes, but then before I know it. I've read the whole thing cover to cover. Mardi Maxwell creates amazing sexual tension and romance on pretty much every page. With this book, the first in the series, she's also given us wonderfully real characters, vivid writing, and unexpected twists and turns to her plot. I also love Mardi Maxwell's humor. I truly laughed out loud at many scenes in this novel (and for the later novels in this series as well). Eg the tricks Addiison plays on Cade when she was young, the two security guards sent to protect her, and the texts one of them sends to Cade ("not my fault, buddy"). And even very minor characters come to life in an instant, and they are all so easy to imagine as real people. I really love the heroine, Addison. She's absolutely delightful in the way she thinks and plots and schemes. A very sweet, very smart and inventive gal who totally deserves her HEA. I've read all the books and the series and I love getting glimpses of her in each of them. Actually all her heroines are extremely likeable and I love the tricks each of them (except maybe Jenna) pulls on her man. As for the hero, Cade, he really annoyed me on my first reading but I've gotten to like him more with every subsequent read. In later books he treats Addison just right. In this book, however, at first he behaves like an ass but you can slowly begin to see that he's driven by genuine anxieties and is still trying to cope with a painful past. That said, throughout the series I feel the heros gets off much too lightly. They behave like horses's asses sometimes and probably need to be smacked upside the head several times a day. At the very least, they need to grovel a lot more than they do. And the women are much too quick to forgive them for bad behavior. In a later book one of the women says as much but then goes on to forgive her man in the blink of an eye. The men are incredibly sexy already but would be even sexier with many more scenes of extended non-stop groveling. Finally, there's one thing that bugs me very much, which is the fact that they keep breaking the BDSM code, such as it is. Eg punishments for the heroine for things she did even when they weren't in a D/S relationship (or were "on a break," TM Ross in *Friends*). And saying that using her safeword would end the relationship. That's not on. Overall though, a wonderful wonderful book. I wish Mardi Maxwell would keep going and going with this series. There's so much potential...all sorts of sexy men waiting in the wings, from Thor to the McCabe brothers to Ben and Mac.Her other series, the "bondmates," is good but seems thinner than this, and I really hope we get more stories about the world of the Ramseys. I guess this ended up being more of a series review than a review of this novel...but once you've read them all it's hard to stick to talking about just the one. Incidentally, I want to see more of the newborns we learn of in the last book to date, about the little boy, Harper,, and about the hinted story in the last book about Addison's singing. Hope we don't have to wait too long for these. I can't wait to read Thor's and Marisol's story to begin with, and then get going on the stories of all the other I mentioned.

Awesome read....totally lost myself in this book. Hooked from the very first page! Mardi Maxwell had a knack of drawing me into the story, living the lives with the characters as I read.

Cade Ramsey...Mmmm Hmmm....ex military, Dom and co-owner of the BDSM club, Club Mystique. Protected Addison from a very early age, eventually becoming her guardian. He wants a vanilla marriage with Addison, the image of his step parents marriage, what he believed to be the only way! Addison Matthews, a privileged child of wealthy parents who always got what she wanted. In love with Cade she found out his secret and wanted to share in it with Him. She learns a lot about the lifestyle but can she win Cade around or does it end in heartbreak.....!

Thoroughly recommend this book. Live the lives of Addison and Cade, meet the Ramsey Brothers. Laughter, tears, heartbreak and steamy hanky panky! You'll be itching for the rest of the series!

This novel is a challenging story about two people who have known each other since the heroine was 12 years old, the child of two celebrities who seldom paid her any attention except to use her as a publicity prop. She found a new family in the friends who taught her how to ride and how to be a part of a healthy family of five sons. She has fallen in love with the oldest son almost from the moment she laid eyes on him. Now he is courting her but there is an important part of his life he wants to exclude her from. She will not be having that. This is a very emotional roller coaster for these two individuals with their on-again-off-again relationship, their inner insecurities that surface at inopportune times, and the pressures of being a part of a rockem sockem family. Yet there is authentic caring and a desire to see real love survive and flourish. I got hooked on this series and found this book to be a really entertaining read.

I was posting something in a room on Facebook and saw a post for this book and figured, "Why not? I've been enjoying the books I've read about the D/s lifestyle. It seems to be erotic suspense, so why not give it a shot." Boy am I glad I did. This book is well written, it is sexy, the Doms are Doms and not abusive jerks POSING as Doms. The characters are well developed and not just there for the sex. This book has depth, it's sexy, savvy, and I liked it so much I bought the next TWO books.

Yep, it's true. I was half way into this book and bought the next two because I KNEW I'd enjoy them.

Give the Doms Of Club Mystique a try - I hope you like them as much as I did!

Mardi Maxwell has a new fan!
