"Love My Way" is such an amazing, special book and if I could give it 6 stars I would.

I read the blurb and looked at the cover picture and thought this looked like a good way to while away a few hours... What I got though was something so completely different to what I was expecting and it was so much better than I had envisioned. This book literally blew me away and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This a powerful story of friendship, love, devotion and loyalty and it moved me to tears so have your tissues handy. Our leading characters are beautifully crafted by the author and you will love each of them for their strengths and frailties as this is what makes this story even more special.

If anyone reads this review, please take it as my personal recommendation to buy one of the most beautiful books you will read this year. It is the best book I have read in sometime and if Kate Sterritt's other books are half as good as "Love My Way" I definitely have a new author for my "must read" list.

Love My Way by Kate Sterritt

Every so often you come across a book that surprises you, despite the amount of hype that said book has generated.
Truth: I was reluctant to download Love My Way purely on the very limited blurb provided, and my own very rigid criteria on choosing my reading material. But I did, and I am very happy that I followed the advice of the many discerning followers of Kate Sterritt.
This is overall, a wonderfully simple love story, however, it is only simple in it's telling. There is a complexity of metaphoric layering underpinning this story which allows the reader an insight into an intricate art form while delivering a very powerful life lesson using this art form.
The bonds formed are inspirational & the relationship failings are heartbreaking. You are taken on a true Australian journey throughout this story.
It was 'simply' brilliant writing.
Now, I did read along in conjunction with the audible narration for this book & although at times the female narrator lost a hint of the aussie inflection, this story takes on a whole new dimension via the narration and you certainly get caught up in the feelings & emotions the author was trying to convey, so if you are a fan of audible narration, do so for this book....it is a wonderful experience.
Because I was guilty of judging a book by it's cover or in this case blurb, I very nearly missed out on a very special book. Thank you Kate Sterritt & your ardent followers for giving me such a delightful start to my 2018 reading list.

Good read. A twist I didn't expect, a few loves scenes and a few slow chapters in the second half but worth the effort to get threw this ook. Made me experience a few different emotions throughout and I shed a few tears.

I have loved every novel that I've read by Kate Sterritt, but this, this is by far her best work to date.

This novel is so unique with so much innocence and purity it actually took my breath away. Highly emotional and at times quite confronting. So much depth and detail you can actually feel every single emotion shine through. Heartbreaking and heartwarming.
It's beauty is breath taking.
It's sheer perfection.
It has simply left me speechless.

We meet Emerson.
A beautiful girl with a dark and tormented childhood who meets a boy that will change her whole world.

We meet Mereki.
A beautiful boy who will be the one to help her when she needs it most.

We meet Josh.
A man who falls in love with her, and will stop at nothing to mend the damage that has been caused.

This is their story.
A story about grief and pain.
A story about secrets revealed.
A story about hurt and pain.
A story about trust and hope.
A story about self discovery.
A story about unconditional love.

I honestly don't want to give anything more away but I will say this......

I cannot rate Love My Way high enough. Such a raw and emotional read that you just do not want to miss. A novel that every reader can relate to. A read that will swallow you whole emotionally. A read that will stay with you long after you have finished it.

Tissues at the Ready

Ooh, as I started this story, I had no idea how much of an emotional journey it would take me on. Every preconceived notion I had about this story was way off base. I loved all the characters, Emerson especially, as she navigates life growing up in a loveless family, finding her salvation in her best friend, Mereki and her newfound love for art. A talent that it appears can be very therapeutic, especially when you have the best group of colleagues led by a very special person, to assist you on your journey. I fell in love with and had so much respect for Emerson, she was beautiful both inside and out, and in her own way was such a strong independent woman. Kate Sterritt portrayed her perfectly, flaws and all. I was an emotional wreck throughout the story, sometimes in a good way, other times whilst crying like a baby. Oh, and that epilogue, just perfect.

I 'm a massive fan of Kate's and was so excited to read this book and boy she did not disappoint. This book is breathtakingly beautiful. Its Emerson Harts's story of survival, from tough childhood , finding herself ,love and every emotion in between. Kate takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions thats is hauntingly beautiful that will stay with you forever. I'm still thinking about this book a week later and there is no way I can do this book justice. So your just going to have to trust me and go read it. Promise it will be one of your best books this year just make sure you bring the wine and the tissues xx
