Lucy Daniels’ dreams are finally coming true. After three years of working for one of the youngest, most ambitious CEO’s in Dallas, she has the opportunity to leave it all behind and begin her career as a photographer.

Lucy’s girlfriends think she’s nuts for leaving a job that pays well and includes a boss who doubles as eyecandy. What they don’t know is that Christopher James Barden the Third may be pretty to look at but he has a giant stick up his ass.

However, Lucy is about to discover that Chris Barden has been fighting his attraction for his gorgeous, extroverted assistant since she started working for him. Now that she intends to leave, she’s fair game. Because Chris has wanted Lucy for a long time and he always gets what he wants.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light, Fun Novella 8 March 2017
By LSG - Published on Amazon.com

This was an enjoyable well-written novella. Chris is the young, handsome, caring CEO/boss and Lucy is his strong, stubborn personal assistant who has four close girlfriends who are more than happy to give their relationship advice to her.

After three years of working together, Lucy is ready to give her notice to Chris and move on with her photography career. It's at this time that Chris actually begins to show Lucy that he really cares for her and doesn't want her to leave.

Read the book to see how they handle their new, personal relationship. I'm looking forward to downloading more books by this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute quick story 12 July 2014
By Debbie - Published on Amazon.com

This was a sweet quick story. Lucy has worked for Chris for three years as his personal assistant. She's finally selling some of her photographs and making money where she can quit her job and follow her dream of becoming a photographer. However, Chris starts making it obvious he's interested in her. At first she denies he has feelings for her, but Chris makes it very clear what his intentions are. He's extremely hot.

I loved Chris! He's sweet, bossy, caring and protective. Everything he said and did towards Lucy melted my heart a little more. However, honestly, I didn't like Lucy. I tried. I really, really tried. But I personally could not stand her. She's selfish, immature, stubborn and rude. There is no way a boss would put up with her attitude and smart mouth without firing her. She showed Chris no respect whatsoever. He invited her to dinner and she acted like a brat. Then he paid for said dinner and she stormed out the restaurant. He tells her he loves her and she stares at him in disbelief. She leaves in the middle of the night and worries him, and then she gets mad because he was concerned. Total B!$&).

We're almost led to believe that Lucy had some life changing relationship that made her scared of commitment. Unfortunately we are never given details. Only told she's protected her heart for four years. Lucy aside, Chris is great. He along with the other characters in the story made it a good book. Others will like Lucy's character I'm sure, I just dint care for her.

Quick read, standalone with happy ending.
4.0 out of 5 stars Girl leaving the job is wooed by the drool-worthy boss 22 March 2017
By Guy Reviewing Romance and More - Published on Amazon.com

In Love With Lucy is a fast office romance between two people who denied their attraction to each other due to their working situation. Add some besties and it's partly rom-com.

Lucy Daniels is quitting her job after 3 years as an assistant with the young and ambitious CEO in Dallas: Christopher James Barden III. She is leaving the stuck-up boss behind and chasing her dream as a photographer, even though the boss is drool-worthy and salary is great. What Lucy didn't count on was Christ Barden had been denying himself because he doesn't date employees, and he wanted Lucy for a long time. Now that she's leaving, it's open season!

While the trope of hot boss is getting stale, this fast read (150 pages) managed to keep things moving at a good clip and didn't delve too much into the cliche.
3.0 out of 5 stars From the moment he decided he is going to pursue her the relationship is all on his terms and he insists that she do things like 9 March 2017
By A. Hayes - Published on Amazon.com

It's not that this is badly written but the guy really bothered me. His behavior seemed more abusive than caring and that is a turn off. From the moment he decided he is going to pursue her the relationship is all on his terms and he insists that she do things like go to dinner with him and if she is confused or doesn't act the way he wants he gets angry with her. It seemed like very controlling behavior and I also didn't like that her friends were insisting it was all her fault. What kind of friends are those? I wouldn't encourage a friend to pursue a relationship with someone who was acting that way.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lucy & Chris 19 April 2014
By Julie H - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
It isn't that this isn't a good story, it is. There just isn't much of a story to speak of. A girl has an attraction to her hot boss who is your typical alpha male/crabby pants during working hours. Lucy is a struggling photographer & once her gallery show makes it big she gives her two week notice. She didn't realize that Chris was secretly longing to be with her until there were no messy work obstacles in their way. Thinking this is going to be a fun fling Lucy finds herself in deep with the other sexy & warm & attentive side of Chris that he never let her see until now. There really isn't much else to this story, no angst or other troubles or conflicts. Just two people scared to admit they are falling hard but also too afraid to walk away. Nice light reading, good romance! Oh my gosh though, so many typos! Please, someone hire me to review their books & fix this stuff before it goes to print. :) There is no reason a book should be littered with all of these typos.
