Trey Marks has built himself from the bottom ranks to create ‘Marks Lingerie’. But his business is flailing and he needs a savior. Trey has learned the hard way to never mix business with pleasure, so hiring ‘engaged’ Kate Martin is a safe bet, regardless of how attractive he finds her. Kate Martin is thrilled to have scored the position as creative director but she’s not sure what to make of her new gorgeous as sin boss, Trey.
The first half of the book explores these two individuals who work together to restore ‘Mark’s Lingerie’ to its former glory. An alliance created over hard work, trust and mutual respect.
”I’m wagering everything on this. On you. I need you to understand how important it is for this to succeed.”
Working closely together creates an underlining tension that neither Trey or Kate are willing to explore. Between the womanizer and the girl who hasn’t set a wedding date; attraction goes ignored and an unlikely friendship is formed.
”My company needs her. I need her. And, unfortunately, so does my body. And that right there, is how things fall apart."
So what happens when two people who are perfect for each other deny their feelings? Between dysfunctional relationships, half truths and longing; friendship and flirtation will only suffice for so long until all the lies they tell themselves unravel.
This wasn't just about forbidden romance because they worked together - it was how friendship grew into something more. Their friendship was phenomenal because of their chemistry but also because they became each other's best friend. The pace and development of their friendship was flawlessly written and explored, that I felt the fear they had for taking the next step into a relationship – while authors may write the words, very few have managed to make the reader question what could be lost like Alessandra Torre can.
Alessandra Torre can create anything with words. Her writing is poignant and feels effortless her plot's tight and believable. Love in Lingerie, told from dual POVs, is a mixture of friends-to-lovers and forbidden romance. It is slow-burning, at times angst-filled, journey of mixed messages, secrets, heart-break, mistakes and could have-beens... but also of friendship, loyalty, success and an undeniable love. It ends perfectly with an epilogue in the future.
For fans of Alessandra Torre I think this is one of her best, certainly my favourites – it really is very special. For those of you that haven’t read a Torre love story but enjoy escapism, erotica, friends-to-lovers, office romance, excellent writing, and interesting, exciting twists to your stories Love in Lingerie is a great place to start! Highly recommended.

It was a slow seduction of temptation that was beyond anything I've read. The way the chapters where set up it pulled you into Trey and Kate's lives like you were right there with them, see what they saw, feel what they felt.
Trey needs Kate and it would seem in more ways than one, but he can't have her. Kate see's this opportunity with Trey as a new start and wants Trey just as much, but no matter whether it's a boyfriend, fiancé, no office fraternising, he's a dangerous temptation.
You see the connection between the two is everything that's not only business, but something beyond, there is wit, humour, friendship and lust. The fight can only last so long until their defences, feelings and reasonings are drawn.
This was a relatively fast paced book where the words sung out to you and made feel everyone, yet it was a slow burn romance. You read it with a smile and I still feel the tingles long after I've finished.
Rules are made to be broken, well they were broken and re-written friends or not, Trey will leave his Mark.
This book is just everything you can want to put a massive smile on your face.
I'm that lost for words, I don't know what to discuss first. I sit here now, my heart in my throat, my blood pumping insanely hard with massive stars in my eyes. Alessandra Torre took me to a DIFFERENT WORLD with this book. I never imagined that Love In Lingerie would be THIS. I mean don't get me wrong I expected heat, rawness and intensity but what I didn't expect was the EPIC FEELS that just surged out of me while reading, burnt through me while reading, tugged at the DEPTHS OF MY SOUL while reading.
EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING was right. So utterly perfect. So CONSUMING.
Love in Lingerie is fire and ice, a deep, delectable push and pull through give and take, lust and love, dominance and submission, and not even in the way you'd think.
Alessandra's portrayal of ‘him’ and ‘her’ was written so fluidly, so flawlessly, so exciting. As individuals they were classy, captivating characters that you cannot help but fall for, from her strong, sexy persona to his deliciously, dirty, masculine rawness, I fell hard and fast.
Though together, together was when the magic happened. Together they oozed connection, one that you felt deep in your bones. Together they had a chemistry so fierce. Together they crackled like a burning flame, so hot and so bright. Together they BLEW ME AWAY.
As a lover of the ‘friends to lovers’ trope, Love In Lingerie was like a drug. An inescapable high that I wanted, needed, craved and drowned in. There are NO WORDS to fully describe how perfectly this trope was done. Alessandra NAILED it. I felt it, I lived it, I LOVED IT! The relationship, the dynamic, the intensity, the worry, the heartbreak, the good, the bad and the ugly, all done to perfection.
I honestly think I could sit here all day and tell you how utterly amazing Love In Lingerie was, IS. But I also urge you to dive into this book, putting everything else aside and just going along for the ride. Because you WILL lose yourself, you WILL fall in love, you will NEVER want it to end, you WILL want to devour it and go slow all at the same time. But most of all, past everything else you WILL feel nothing but PURE BOOKWORM BLISS when you have finished.
The story is told over the space of three years and during that time, both Kate and Trey try to maintain their friendship and their working relationship and stop it from developing into a romantic one.
This is a story of true love blossoming between two people who are torn between revealing their feelings for each other or remaining friends.
I loved this story. I loved how strong and feisty Kate was. She was more than a match for Trey, at every turn. Trey was a mixture of fun, serious business owner and dominant friend. He had his hard, dominant business side and a softer, caring side.
This book is long and drawn out which for me left me skipping lots of pages and eager for something to actually happen.
I wish there had been more with this book-
More of the industry they were in, more give and take with the two main characters. It's hard when they get on so well. As awful as that sounds you want ups and downs in a novel for the characters to deal with and this one was a bit too smooth sailing for me to the point of boredom.
