Product Description

**Love Hate Relationship is a STANDALONE Romantic Comedy that follows characters introduced in Shrinking Violet. It is not necessary to read Shrinking Violet first**

People say that sometimes the line between love and hate is thin. What they don’t tell you is that sometimes it’s invisible.

Rowan Locklaine gave his heart to one woman a long time ago and has no desire to go through that kind of torture ever again. His painful past has turned him cold and heartless. Women serve only one purpose as far as he’s concerned, and relationships are nothing but a waste of time and energy. When the mouthy little blonde, Navie Collins, is hired as his personal assistant, he finds his world turned upside down. And against his better judgment, he can’t seem to stop thinking about her.

Navie Collins has spent years convinced she’s not good enough, that no one could possibly want her. Growing up the way she did helped to thicken her skin, so when she walks into a job interview and meets the temperamental, foul-mouthed, best-selling author Rowan Locklaine, she’s all too happy to put him in his place.

Rowan and Navie are convinced they hate each other. But as time passes and the attraction between them begins to grow, these two stubborn, strong-willed people have a life changing decision to make. Can they move beyond their pain for a chance at something better, or are they destined to let their pasts dictate their future?

I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion and all I can say is thank goodness I did! As soon as I read the blurb for Jessica Prince’s latest novel Love Hate Relationship my interest was piqued. Book #3 in the Colors Series, is based on characters introduced in the previous books but reads effortlessly as a standalone novel.

Navie Collins had a horrible childhood and adolescents. Life had taught her that she would never be good enough and that no one would ever want her. And she believed it whole-heartedly. But with the help of her best friend Harlow she had finally come out of her shell through college, and was now ready to take life by the balls…starting with her job interview. Unbeknown to her, her life is about to take a rocky turn when she finds herself working for the arrogant, womanizing and down right infuriating Rowan Locklaine.

Rowan Locklaine had a past filled with pain as well. He’d let his guard down once and was left heartbroken and betrayed. Bitter and angry he lived his life with the rule that women were good for one thing and one thing only … one-night stands. His wild ways had caught up with him however, and his professional career as a best selling author was in jeopardy. So when his publicist saw a fiery spark in the young Navie Collins, she hired her hoping that she may just be the one person brave enough to take Rowan on head to head.

Despite their mutual loathing of one another and Navies’ daily desire to quit her job, they both felt an attraction for each other that seemed to intensify every time they started to argue. I lost count of how many times this book had me laughing my arse off.

I devour stories like this the sassy girl putting the arrogant manwhore in his place. Navie despite her past has made a good life for herself until she becomes Rowans PA. The sparks, words everything flies in their wake. They start to develop feelings for the other, then the fun starts. You'll have to read it to see if there's a HEA.

I can't wait for Pepper & Griffins story as I see Harlow is next. However you'll enjoy this.

My 1st Jessica Prince book and definitely not my last! I enjoyed this enemies to lovers story so much that I couldn't put it down and read it in one day. The banter between all the characters, especially Rowan and Navie, were always hilariously funny. I caught myself laughing out loud so many times during this book. I can't wait to discover all of Jessica's books now.

HASH(0xaae4bc48) out of 5 stars 4 funny stars 24 November 2015
By Nmmomof4 - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Overall Opinion: This was a sweet, funny read. I think it's hard to have a good love-hate dynamic in a story and have it work out, and I think this book succeeded. I think I like this book the best out of the series, but the other two are pretty good too. The h and H have a really fun banter that makes you laugh along with them and hope that they get their happy ending, especially because they both need it!

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Navie and Rowan's story. Navie gets hired to be Rowan's PA. He is moody, difficult, and sometimes a downright jerk. He had some bad things happen to him in the past that he never dealt with properly (see my goodreads review for spoiler). Navie is tough and gives whatever attitude he gives her right back, and he eventually decides that he likes her and they start a friendship of sorts. The friendship of course grows to more, and they fall in love. There is some family drama, some steamy moments, some ex drama, and some laugh out loud moments...and the couple get their HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Navie and Rowan's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I breezed right through this because it flowed well, and I never felt the need to skim.

Instalove: No. This had a great build up to love.

H rating: 4 stars. Rowan. Moody, sexy Rowan. He's the kind of character you love to hate, and then just love. I loved how he didn't even consider another woman once Navie was in his life (even though he might've been a manho in the past).

h rating: 4.5 stars. Navie. She was a pretty great h. She has had a sad past, and I remember loving her in the last book and feeling like she needed a good story. I think she got it here.

Sadness level: Low. I didn't need any tissues.

Heat level: Moderate/low. They do have some good chemistry, but it takes a while to get physical so there isn't a ton of it.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

OW/OM drama: Yes. He has a bad past with his ex, and she comes around and causes some drama (it is really minimal though).

Closure: This had decent closure, but (again) not enough for me. It gives us a hint to what the next book in the series will be about, but for the couple I'd say it was a HFN ending.

Worth the $?: I got in on kindle unlimited, but even at the $2.99 on Amazon I'd say yes.

HASH(0xaae4b114) out of 5 stars A must read 27 October 2015

Format: Kindle Edition
An author like Jessica Prince, is the reason why I'm so passionate about reading. I've read most of her books so far, this is my second ARC from this truly amazing author. Every single one of her books that I've read up to now were great, but when I think she can't get any better because she's already at the top of my favourite authors, she pulls this story out of her creative mind. Love Hate Relationship is the kind of story not easily forgotten. I don't remember the last time I laughed so much while reading. My family thought I was somewhat deranged.

I was hooked to this story just from reading the prologue. It's not an overly sad, full of angst, sappy kind of story. It's really about Navie, a young women who's had a rough start in life but she never looked at it as the glass half empty. She's positive, straightforward, a fierce fighter, a survivor and head strong. She's not a door mat, that's for sure. She's got some pretty funny come backs. She doesn't let the negative get her down. Jessica created an amazing 6 star heroine with this character. Navie is a character that I related to and truly liked, I was rooting for her the entire book. Navie doesn't play the child abandoned card, she stands up for herself and goes for what's she wants.

Rowan is a broody douche bag who sees the glass half empty. He's been deceived in the past and just can't trust anybody at all. Rowan is a commitment phobic, emotionally unavailable Man's man. When Navie becomes his personal assistant, upon the first meeting sparks flew. He pushes her buttons and she has a nuclear reaction. She then pushes his buttons right back. They are so FUNNY and highly entertaining together. There was never a dull moment with them.

Jessica has created wonderful, funny, engaging and loving characters that made it impossible to ignore. The story was fun, entertaining and kept me laughing throughout. Navie and Rowan mesh well together and have good chemistry.
Secondary characters were also well played.

There will be laughter, tears and some heartwarming moments in this story. It's a well written, nicely paced love story that will make you smile . My expectations were exceeded with this amazing story. It was so entertaining that I couldn't put it down for long.
I can't give enough praise for this amazingly above 5 star story. Jessica as created a superb book that will leave me thinking about it even after time as past. She has created unique memorable characters. Although it can be read as a standalone, my enjoyment was heighten because I had read the 2 previous Colors novel. I strongly recommend this wonderful book and all her previous books are worth the read. It's told by a dual POV, no cliffhanger and has an HEA. This story will not disappoint you, take a chance, trust me.

HASH(0xaa556c60) out of 5 stars Being close to her was like taking a wrecking ball to the wall I'd built around myself... 28 October 2015
By Lisa - A Risque' Affair Book Blog - Published on

Love Hate Relationship is part of the 'Colors' series of standalone books.

"There was no doubt in my mind that he was the lion and I was his prey..."

When I saw that Navie was getting her own book, I couldn't wait for her to get her happy ending. If you read 'Shrinking Violet', then you know that her life hasn't ever been easy. Disappointment isn't new to her.
Navie lands an interview that ends up being life altering. She soon finds out that it isn't the original job she applied for, but rather to be a personal assistant. The problem is, what if you're the assistant to someone who does everything they can to make you hate your job?

"If I've learned anything in my life, it's that pain is inevitable."

Rowan, Rowan, Rowan. He is rude and bossy and thinks he's God's gift to women. That is, until a girl in an ill fitting, brown suit walks into his life. She is nothing like the women he normally goes for, but she's exactly what he needs. She puts him in his place and talks to him like no one ever has.

"Being close to her was like taking a wrecking ball to the wall I'd built around myself."

I absolutely LOVED this book. It had a little of everything. It was sweet and sexy and funny and angsty and just... all those good things that make it impossible to put down once you start reading. The banter between Rowan and Navie will make you yell at your kindle "JUST KISS HER ALREADY".
There is a dual POV which just adds to the whole dynamic of the story. It's in those bits and pieces of Rowan's POV that we see that maybe... just maybe... there's more to him than just a womanizer with a bad attitude.

If you're looking for a story that will make you laugh and cry and everything in between, definitely pick this one up.

(I need to add. Please tell me that we'll eventually get Pepper's story. Please?)

HASH(0xaa568e34) out of 5 stars RomCom done Perfect!! 27 October 2015

Wow. I must say this is possibly Jessica Prince's best work to date. Love Hate Relationship has it all. HUMOR!! Oh my gosh, it was so dang funny I very truly spit out my tea a few times. STEAMY scenes... Whoa. This was hot panty melting and delicious. SWEET... Oh how I LOVE when a hero and heroine both have that moment where they are brought to their knees and have to make crazy decisions and trust and have faith.

I absolutely fell in total love with my new friend Navie - because, you know, she's my BFF. When someone tells a bouncer she's about to get a step ladder out so she can kick his ass, friend for life. I loved her spunk, her mouth, her kind heart and her gentle spirit when she needed it. Rowan was narcissistic, owly, moody but all of that was totally forgiven when Navie showed up. They could bring the best and worst out of each other and it was an absolute blast watching it all unfold.

I totally recommend picking up Love Hate Relationship as well as the others in the Colors series. You won't regret a single moment of reading this one!

HASH(0xaa2c4c9c) out of 5 stars Seduction and sweet sparks... 30 April 2016

I love romantic comedies and even though this story was completely predictable, it was so much fun to read. It appealed to me on so many levels. I like strong, independent minded heroines, and Navie Collins was all that and more. She's a 5'1" pistol. A real spitfire. And then she lands "the job from hell" and the fun really begins. She's the PA to an inconsiderate, narcissistic douche who knows he's a jerk and he doesn't care. It takes everything in her power not to combust..(she may be tiny but when you get on her bad side, you better stand back).

Rowan Locklaine is a first class, grade-A man-whore. He tolerates women only for one thing then sends them on their way. He's arrogant and rude, but when this tiny pitbull becomes his newest PA, he has no power to fire her. It's out of his hands because she doesn't answer to him...he CAN'T fire her. Rowan is a famous author with an infamous reputation and his fan-base is suffering. But he's callous and uncaring for a reason. He's bitter, miserable and wounded for a reason.

Ok, so yes...this story is completely predictable. There is no real suspense and the drama is, but weak. And I loved it. I liked that Navie wasn't morally loose. I liked that, even though she slowly becomes attracted to Rowan, she doesn't act on it or allow herself to jeopardize her standards. I liked that she was a thinker...she deals with her fears of being hurt or dumped rationally. She's strong yet she's vulnerable. And even though Rowan is a jerk, I liked his inner turmoil that eventually brings him to his knees. He becomes more than merely attracted to Navie, he comes to realize that he needs her and it's hard for him to swallow. It scares him to death. He tries so hard to stick to his guns...(one night stands only). No relationships etc. But that only digs him deeper into his misery. It was great! Character descriptions are strong and gave me a good visual. I was able to connect easily. Dialogue is witty and fresh and balanced nicely with narration. I know we're all unique and what floats my boat might sink yours...but if you're looking for a fast paced, fun and easy romance with a cute but solid PG-13 - R rated'll probably like this story. Brilliant!
