The book is a quick read that reminds us that life does not always go as planned, and we must be prepared to accept the circumstances as they arise. The story shows the reality of love and not just the fun parts of it but the hardships too. The events depicted in the story are very realistic, and each character is unique. The author shows us the protagonist in her most vulnerable times as well as after she has overcome her sadness. Alexia finally becoming headstrong and content in life after all the hardships faced by her gives the readers inspiration to work on the shortcomings in life and become independent. As we read the story, we empathize with Alexia, and the ending just makes you smile.

This is a heartwarming tale of a young protagonist Alexia, whose sincere and moving efforts at nurturing an eight-year-long relationship with her college sweetheart are met with infidelity and deceit. Even though she's met with an unfortunate fate, she doesn't lose hope, picks herself up, and rebuilds her life.
All the characters in this tale are realistically defined, the storyline is tightly narrated and includes all the nitty-gritty of the imperfect and real love affairs, this is a story about hope, courage, and true love.
Most of us when we think about love we think of it as a noun, as a predefined thrilling and enticing sensation, this story will help you realize that true love is formed, little by little with consistent effort, courage, support, and determination and it is something to be cherished throughout life.
Alexia's story is worth reading and cherishing in our hearts as a reminder of HOPE and LOVE :)

Note: The only thing that I found missing in this short story is that it would have been so much more if the author could elaborate the later parts of Alexia's life leading up to her marital life a bit more graphically. There's so much more I want to know about Alexia now, but I guess that's where we could expect a sequel to the story. Here's to hoping *Cheers*
