For more than a decade I have been a fan of the Longarm adult western series (Jove western) and even though a host of different writers have written these formula novels; nevertheless, I have enjoyed most of them.
There are more than 400 books in the series and I have read most of them but fortunately I sometimes find a Custis Long, Deputy Federal Marshal Book I have not read. I purchased this action packed novel (Longarm #409 Longarm and the banker’s daughter by Tabor Evans) for a bargain price on Amazon for a bargain price and found it to be a somewhat unusual story, but still a great read.
Unlike most of the other Longarm novels where we find Custis Long meeting with his boss, Billy Vail, Federal Marshal working out of the Denver office, this tale begins with him just saving a supposedly kidnapped banker’s daughter named Lacy Sackett, from the no good vicious bank robbers. What we quickly find out is that the seductive and devious victim is in reality part of the whole bank robbery scheme.
I never like to give away too much information when reviewing a novel, but if you are a Longarm fan I think you will find this an amusing and strange tale with plenty action to keep you turning the pages. I found it to be a good read and an ending that was a little surprising to me.
