I have been an enthusiastic fan of the Longarm adult western series for many years. I have lost count of the number of books in this series that I have read. I just finished reading this western novel (Longarm (#277) and the Yukon Queen) and found it to be a great read. This tale starts off with a bang literally as we find Custis Long, U.S. Deputy Marshal, in bed with a nude woman named “Glory.” As we Longarm fans know Custis always seems to find ladies who are willing to share their charms with him.
Longarm’s boss, Billy Vail, Federal U.S. Marshal, has another assignment for him, which does not seem to be that difficult. He must hunt down and bring back a little runt named Harrison Dodge, who has many of “Washington’s dirty secrets.” It seems every time Custis has the sleazy political hack in his grasp, someone hits him over the head and the runt gets away. There are many twists and turns in this western novel which will keep you turning the pages.
Longarm winds up in Alaska hunting down Dodge and serves as first mate aboard a riverboat called the Yukon Queen with the feisty lady captain. I never like to give away too much when reviewing a novel, but if you are into the Longarm series this tale has everything we fans love about these adult western novels.
