Plug and play on both machines, no fuss, no hassle, the batteries last forever, it bounces occasionally without breaking and maintains a decent quality feel for many months of heavy use. Half the kids in my school use one version of this mouse or another.
The multi directional scroll is useful although I have not used any of the additional software (that you can download) on the Mac it works fine on the Windows machine (7 and the dreaded 8) for custom adjustments.
The design is nice but it does wear after a lot of use, which is the only possible negative but the aged look is geek chic, according to my son, so maybe it's like Levi's and means you can sell worn stuff for more money. Either way it is a great little mouse at a reasonable price from a good company.
This mouse is MUCH better though. I'm not going to put down the Microsoft-brand mouse, but this one has definitely got the former product beat. A much stronger signal with much less bulk; the USB receiver is SO much more convenient and with a far range as well! Microsoft's had a transmitter attached to a USB cable. Bulkier and the signal didn't reach as far.
This mouse is very comfortable and much easier to carry around if you need something portable. No software, just plug and go.
I will say this though - it's pretty petite. That isn't a bad thing by any means, as it works perfect with my own small hands, but those with larger hands might have some complications getting used to it.
I was so satisfied with this, I ordered a wireless keyboard that can also be synced with the wireless signal the USB transmitter has; it comes with another transmitter, but according to Logitech, I should be able to sync the keyboard with the existing USB transmitter, so I don't have to take up another USB port.
Will give a review on that next when it comes in. As for this, it's a wonderful and cheap investment. Very satisfied!
Performance is great, nice fine motion control. Plug-n-play; you can set optiions in Windows, if you need it, it worked fine out of the box, but I am geek, I HAD to mess with it. :-) Speaking of plugs, the receiver extends ONLY a quarter of an inch. Don't even need to take it off the laptop when you put it in its case (hard to lose it :-). Very satisfied with this product and Logitech in general. Beats the Microsoft mouse I was using hands down.
I purchased a second M325 as a gift for a friend. Though she attempts to hide it, I know she is not using the M325 I gave her. And I don't have to ask why either. It's for the same reason.
