WOW … another awesome book by SM Stryker.

This is the story of Samantha & Oliver. Sam, is a woman who at a young age experienced a traumatic event at the hands of her stepbrother after her father walked away from them and her mother remarries. Oliver is Sam's only friend who protects her as a child and watches over her as she becomes an adult – always there, but in the background. His feelings and the secrets he must keep make their getting together complicated. This book touches some tough subjects (sexual abuse/rape) but Shelly tells the story in a wonderful and tasteful way.

Although this is a rough and emotional story to read, it is definite must-read.

like everything in our lives, the journey is what matters, not the destination. Everything, good or bad, happens for a reason. The Locket is a story of heartache, love, friendship and family.

I am so happy I downloaded this book and Mrs Stryker's books as well I know I will enjoy as I did this one. This was a sad and also uplifting read, Samantha and Oliver are so great together they truly are each others soul mate. I loved that she and Nicolas began with their relationship again as father and daughter and then Oliver and his grandfather😉😉 I especially loved the epilogue it made me tear up and then at the end the character profiles so great. On to the next one thank you Shelly 😊😃

A good read about a very tough subject. I was lucky to receive this book as an arc for an honest review. Even though this describes a dark subject it brings you through a whole range of emotions. It shows the depth of the human sole and how one can survive and overcome most anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Locket Full of Hope and Love 8 April 2016

This book will make you go through ever emotion you have! From Anger, to love and back again. It deals with sexual abuse so if this is a trigger for you do not read. By all means read Samantha and Oliver's story if you can because it is written with feeling, and handled in a good way. It is a sad story that I'm sure happens much too often and if this book helps just one person understand how one can recover and come back, and even triumph over being a victim it has served it's purpose. Samantha goes though some major tuf even after she is grown, even more rape, but she is a tough brave woman! Her abuse begins at age 9 by her older step brother, that she got when her Mom remarried. At 13 she ends up pregnant and is really not quite sure how,she got that way. She is kind of a young 13, sheltered by her Mom. Sam's Dad walked on on her and her Mom to keep them safe, but for what reason she does not find out untl later in the book. He does have someone look out for Sam at school and this is where Oliver comes into the story.. My emotions were all over the place with this story, Sam endured so much. She goes from a victim to a survivor to a woman in love. Oliver doesn't quit protecting Sam after the 3 years he was supposed to, and it is a good thing because her stepbrother comes back into her life after she graduates college. Oliver loves Sam unconditionally and shows her what true love really is. I think this is the best book this author has written to date. I think she is an author to keep a watch on, and that she has a lot more stories to tell. The characters have a kind of a sad vibe, but are believable and well thought out and fit in with the story! I enjoyed reading this story and would recommend it to everyone. Although this is a rough story to read, and even tougher to live, I am glad this story was told, because it offers hope to the survivor, and without hope you have nothing.
