Zell has spent her 18 years locked away in a "tower", a brothel, where her only friends are the women who work there. Zell dreams of one day being able to explore the world below, the one which he wondow only allows small glimpses of. She is naive ... innocent ... in everything, but that begins to change when a boy celebrating his 18th birthday enters her realm.
Frankie Russo Jr knows how to party hard, sells drugs for his mobster father and can have any girl he wants. However, Frankie no longer wants to be a part of his father's world, he wants to change, make himself a better man. Once he sees Zell, talks with her, he is determined to rescue her and make her life better.
Kimberly certainly sets the tone for this story within the first few pages. It is ominous, dark ad very disturbing at times. It will have you experiencing a gamut of emotions: anger, frustration, joy, heartache and love. Lock is built upon many layers, with many characters ... some good, some bad and some that will keep you guessing.
An amazing read and one to add to your collection.

Zell is now 12 and living with Madam, Erin, Crystal and the other girls in a penthouse where Madam is running a brothel. I absolutely loved this Sinister retelling of Rapunzel. I loved all the characters especially Zell and Frankie
Frankly, this was a great book! I loved every moment!
There are stories within the story, and paying attention to detail,(not hard, just don't race through this book), gives you background built in, not all at once, hope, suspense, and a real thoughtful look at family!
I loved it!
Characters were unique, and many different situations, good and bad, kept this book moving quivkly!
Again, loved it!
