PRAISE FOR A LITTLE FAITH FROM ADVANCE READS

6 Star Review
Wow ! Wow ! Wow! A Little Faith by Emma James was astonishing! This book came as a complete surprise and kept me glued to the pages. The characters jumped out of the pages and pulled me into their world.

A stunningly beautiful story.
Emma James has written such a beautiful powerful story that will keep you engrossed from the first to the very last word. It is a story that revolves around five close friends and how they are dealing with a tragedy that touched them all six years earlier. Throw into the mix a young woman, who is also dealing with the consequences of the event.
These five men will share a bond that will never tear them apart. Fall in love with Harley, Retro, Levi, Keanu and Text(Jase). They are the Men Of Ocean Beach.

It took me a little while to jump on the Emma James train but I am glad I did. This book has it all. Emotions will run wild but it is worth the read big time, I love her writing style she also knows how to catch you and draw you in so you don't want to put the books down.

The Men Of Ocean Beach is a second chance series full of emotion and laugh out loud moments.

Five best friends graduating from college and a summer vacation filled with surfing and girls.

What could go wrong?

Six years ago five young men went to the island and only four came back alive.

Life was forever changed for these men with a brotherhood stronger than blood formed from the ashes. There is nothing they won't do for each other.

Nothing.

Retro Cooper lost his memory and found solace in running his own cafe. He just doesn't know he lost the love of his life along the way. Jase Madden stopped talking, the burden too great and opened up his own gym. Against the odds, Levi Donovan became a model and Keanu Lee hid behind his humor using it to build a business. Harley Madden, alpha security empire owner watches over them all. His guilt for trading places with his brother his own burden to carry.

There is one thing that has stopped these men from moving forward emotionally with their lives and she's about to walk through the door.

Faith Reed lost so much when she was fifteen years old. She hid from life and now she is determined to give back and to move forward.

Five tattooed men are waiting for Faith and her brother Chance to arrive in Ocean Beach so that they can say their goodbyes.

What happens when Faith reunites with these men and is confronted by their own secrets they have kept hidden from her?

I won't lie, you might cry and you might also laugh out loud.

What happens when Retro has an epiphany and his memories come flooding back?

I guess you will have to read to find out.

A Little Faith is full of emotion, surprises and twists and some pretty gorgeous men and a cast of sub characters you will adore. I personally have a thing for Slade Malone. What can I say, the man behind the bar at Joe's gives me a lady boner.

Take a chance on this adult contemporary romance, because sometimes all you need is a little faith.

Reader Note: This is a mature aged new adult/adult contemporary romance which contains strong sexual content for the 18+ reader.

This is not a stand alone series all books must be read in order as all characters continue and are a large part of future books in this series. Birdie and Retro's HEA doesn't end here, you get to read a lot more.

Up next is Keanu and Hope.

This is a gorgeous & unique story from debut Aussie author Emma James! The characters have beautiful & sometimes complex relationships with each other drawn from a highly emotional, high-impact event at the beginning of the novel.

Having been used to only 1 or 2 POVs in other novels, I was hesitant about the multiple voices speaking out in A Little Faith. I’m happily surprised that Emma has made this work so very well & I really loved hearing from so many characters voices.

The boys! Oh the Ocean Beach boys! I gotta say that Jase (aka Text) is my leading book-boyfriend in this series so far, closely followed by Keanu!

You gotta check out A Little Faith – it’s funny, it’ll make you cry, you’ll have all the feels! <3
I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!

I love the idea behind this story. It had me in tears several times as I really felt the pain of the characters as they dealt with the tragedy and loss and loved how they all came together to get each other through it.

I personally don't enjoy first person writing and while the author tried to portray the different characters, I found it hard to tell the difference between the male characters, they all sounded the same in my head - except for Text who only communicates electronically. I was also confused by the Harley, Text and Faith relationship and where this was heading and found some of the language juvenile.

I will read the next instalment and hopefully some of the questions this book left unanswered. Not bad for a first time author who has obviously put a lot of love into her creation.

I like this first book and loved the storyline of friends who are there for each other through tragedy and recovery, better or worse. The characters of Emma James are easily likable and have their own distinct personalities. Clearly, there is so much love, support and respect among them that they have become more like family. No one came out unscathed after the death of a well-loved friend that binds all of them. The loss of a loved one and how the characters coped in their own way was thought-provoking. I like that this was an easy read. However, there were a lot of repetitive phrases in the book that the author could have improved on; some were even written in the same paragraph. At times, the same phrase has been used in the thoughts of 2 characters in the same chapter. Individual characters should have distinct dialogues. I have lived both in the U.S. and Australia and I noticed that there were a lot of Aussie speak when the characters in the story live in San Diego, California. There is also this character Birdie Evans in the story, a love interest of Retro. It annoyed me a little that when she talked the author referred to it several times as "chirping." However, these little distractions do not deter me from following through on the other books of the series. I do want to find out if the guys and Faith will have their own happily ever after.

I won A Little Faith in a blog competition. I hadn't heard of the author before so had no expectations of writing style or storyline. I was expecting a light and quick read that would be alright, but not outstanding. What I got was nothing I expected.

I didn't expect to be hooked after chapter 1. I didn't expect to feel my chest tighten and eyes leak less than half way though. I didn't expect to finish in one afternoon/night and then purchase book 2 right away and read "just one chapter"

I enjoyed how there are multiple perspectives. This group is a family and all voices are heard, often the same scene having a few character views. I got used to the changing of perspectives quickly and didn't find it confusing in the slightest. It is refreshing.

The story is complex but not over the top. It is not predicable, I was still wondering who will end up with who at the end. Although there is a defining moment early on, more details and depth if story is feed to the reader throughout.

Details of storyline would spoil the ride so just read and enjoy!

I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series. 5 fantasticly dramatic, romantic, humours stars.

~spoiler FREE review~

They were just about to start the next phase of their lives-fresh from college, one last adventure before taking adulthood by storm, one night is all it takes to irrevocably change the lives of six friends.

I'm dead on the inside, my heart unbelievably broken.
I've been lost.
So g@ddamn lost.

Six years later, Faith is finally ready to make peace with what happened that night and hopes to move on with her life. Six years later, she comes face to face with everyone involved for the first time since it all went down. Six years later, she realizes what a mistake hiding from these people has been. Never once did she stop to think about what they might be going through and as their situations come crashing down on her, guilt overwhelms her for not being there for them when they may have needed her most. She has a lot of lost time to make up for and a long road ahead before any kind of healing can take place, for any of them.

“I'm realizing how much I don't know about you, Harley. Do my parents know about you and the other guys?”
“Yeah, we've kept in touch from time to time with your parents, checking in on you. I've mainly been the one keeping tabs and relaying information to the guys.”
“So, I've been the inconsiderate a$$h@le who couldn't see past her own grief?”

Even as I write this, I can admit to having a difficult time coming up with the words to describe how much I loved this book and how promising this series looks to be. Emma James does things a little differently than most and that in itself was refreshing.
