I read this book twice - once quickly (in 2 sessions) because I was finding it extremely interesting, then I re-read it more slowly to absorb the details. This book is well researched, clearly written, and is entertaining as well as informative. If you are interested in finding out more about Stoicism, I can thoroughly recommend this book. It gives a brief history of the stoic philosophers, followed by easily understood practical information to help implement stoic principles in our everyday lives. I have selected 3 or 4 (of 55) stoic principles that I will try to follow. If you buy this book I don't think you will be disappointed.
Have just started reading this book and am finding it to be very interesting. It introduces you to the principles of Stoicism and then breaks them down into manageable bits so that you can apply it to your life.
This is a "big picture" book about Stoicism, and as with any book, one hopes not only to learn about the subject at hand but also about the author and so I'm delighted to have discovered Jonas' "The Little Book of Stoicism" as was well as his blog and other musings online.
I loved this book. I’ve read a fair bit about Stoicism but this just brings it altogether in a way where you can understand the theory and then apply it in a practical fashion. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to improve their life.
