A comprehensive yet easy-to-read walk-through of LinkedIn and, more importantly, how to use it effectively.

Chris talks you through each tool, feature and each reason for being on LinkedIn with insightful pro-tips and backed-up with real-word examples. A welcome addition often overlooked in similar publications.

LinkedIn is often misunderstood or simply under utilised. Chris, with his book, helps you navigate your way through it all succinctly, explaining the what's, why’s and how-to’s.

The only problem I can see is, if we all start using LinkedIn as Chris advises, it's going to get very much more competitive in there :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful, practical book. A must have. 9 May 2016

Linkedin Mastery for Entrepreneurs captivated my attention because Chris J. Reed is a highly respected LinkedIn expert, and I was curious about what he had to say.

I wanted to learn more about LinkedIn for some time, so his book came exactly on time. I had many questions and the book answered them all. It’s also written in a very entertaining way. So I learned a lot.

Many people miss the point of LinkedIn. They think that it’s limited in use and that it’s only used for job searches and by HR people. It’s the most underutilized tools in the world, but did you know that LinkedIn is the largest publishing platform? It’s a networking catalyst to meet people, and it can do a lot more for you than just help you find a job. You can like-minded professionals there, drive people to your website, and so on.

The author goes through different sections such as how to master your LinkedIn profile (set up your profile as if it were a magazine about you), he shares, among others, why and how you can get creative online, talks about DO’s and don’ts, how Google and LinkedIn work together, shows you 5 ways to message people on LinkedIn, what marketing strategies you should use there, how big or small should your network be, and there’s also a FAQ section.

In short, a very inspiring, useful read, full of highly practical tools that I’m going to implement quickly.

2.0 out of 5 stars All surface information at best while completely repetitive. 16 December 2016

The book is very surface level material. Which would be fine for a beginner, but nowhere near the mastery that the title implies. Action steps you can take are very broad stroke with comparisons to companies like banks, and fortune 500. Along with repetitive recommendations, that could have been summed all up in a single chapter, the author goes on to bash FaceBook almost every other chapter. So if you don't get it the first time, thee will be many opportunities for it to be emphasized.
No doubt the author knows what they are doing, but does not get into the nitty gritty so you can accomplish what they have done.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some good info (though repeated) and NOT a how-to 13 May 2016

Some good information in it, but lots of repeated info. It seems likely Chris repurposed several articles he'd written about LinkedIn, but didn't realize some of the articles repeated the same phrases and even some of the same checklists! Also this is NOT a "how-to" because unless you know HOW to set up or even get to "Showcase pages" or "Sales Navigator" or other LI features, this will NOT show you that. It just says how important they are. So I'm now looking for a more "how-to."

5.0 out of 5 stars This a great book, and for just $1.99 Kindle, a real steal 6 June 2016

I've had the pleasure of meeting Chris in person at a seminar in Singapore. Everything about this guy is well thought out and in the present ... e.g. don't let the flashy mohawk fool you, underneath it is a serious guy with an in-depth understanding of how to use social media to help build a business.

"Linkedin Mastery" delivers a lot of the key benefits of his Black Marketing's consulting service. It starts at a quick pace and doesn't slow down, conveying the value of LI that most of us don't appreciate. It's interspersed with relevant data that we all should know like the optimal ratio of posts about your business vs general posts, and the odds of your profile getting viewed relative to its Google page rank. Real world examples of well known individuals and brands that use LI effectively, and those that don't, really drives home the main points.

While some say it's redundant due to the reminders that LI is not simply an HR tool, I see this is a way to get people to actually take the next steps to start implementing an action plan. I did within the first few days of starting the book, and the results were quite staggering in expanding my network and generating quality business leads. As Chris points out, your LI profile works 24/7, and you might as well start using it to grow your business, because the competition will.
