4.0 out of 5 stars 3 1/2 - 4 Hearts from MM Good Book Reviews 20 December 2014

You had a hard day and you want just something to take your mind off of it, well this anthology of short stories might just help you along. It has some quirky stories that will have you laughing or crying through them. I have a couple that would make my favorites list, that is if they were a bit longer with more to them. I had a blast reading them all and was glad to have had a chance in reading them.

THE BIRTHDAY GIFT by Eric Gober ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

A sexy and mysterious stranger . . .A luxurious Las Vegas penthouse . . .And one very bizarre timepiece . . .It’s gonna be a birthday Nick will never forget. Nick had lost most of his family to death including the man he loved. Now a man who he felt like he knew gave him the surprise of his life.

This story was very cute but very bizarre. I liked it but for me it seemed to be just to strange to actually get completely into. It gave me the magical side to a beautiful story that had some twist and turns that will draw you in. It will have you wishing that there was a watch for you so that you can go back and change your past, present and future.

A WHALE OF A TIME by Asta Idonea ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

An Australian surfer and a British Marine Biologist meet in the strangest of circumstances in this tale of Biblical proportions. Logan was a gay surfer that wasn’t out. He had been thinking about it when he was eaten by a hugh whale. That was how he met Jonah.

This was a bizarre story and a really strange way to meet your new boyfriend. I am not really sure what to actually think about it. It was really cute and might have been better if it went a little further into it.

DUDE MAMA by Michael P. Thomas ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

When button-down biracial lawmaker Cassidy Uematsu meets hardscrabble fry cook Buford “Jax” Jackson, it’s lust at first sight. They’re only too happy to jump into the sack, and when Jax loses his condom mid-getting-to-know-you, Cassidy urges him forward, damn the consequences. What’s the worst that can happen? Who knew that men could get pregnant, but damn this was a blast to read.

I have never laughed so hard as I did with this story. It was a blast to read, and the fact that men got pregnant felt like a true blessing. When I first read the blurb to this story I thought it was going to have female parts in it, so to my surprise they were all male. I loved this story and had a great time reading it.

THE WITCHING HOUR by Kirifox ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

When Jeremy was killed in service to his country, Mason lost everything. Now Jeremy is back…But is it really him? Eternity may not be just a concept. The thing with this one is a bit of a paranormal gift. Jeremy is the gift or should I say what he is, well is. He is a vampire.

This was a blast to read and I had a fun time reading it, but it would have been better if it was a bit longer. It had me in tears the way Mason had lost his man, but when Jeremy came back it was like a ray of sunshine was brought back into the world. Although Mason’s reaction was exactly what I expected from the horror’s I still wanted to smack him up side the head.

THE GIFT by Frostina ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

He searched high and low in the tiny town he lived in, exasperated, sad, and desperate! He wanted something special for the two most important people in his life. Jordie didn’t want to live his life in a body mostly broken so when an angel gave him a special gift he grab it. Even if the ending would be forever gone. He just wanted one more special time with Bryce.

This story will have your heart breaking and your tears flowing down way longer than the book itself. It is a great story but way to much heartache for me to truly love. I don’t like books that are not having a happy ever after. This was an amazing story of how true love really makes one feel.

JUSTIN GAYLORD by Lily Velden & Taylin Clavelli ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

A Quaker with size issues. The jock without size issues. And a sex therapist who likes to solve size issues. Should be a match made in heaven. Justin is there to help Samuel and Troy to learn their bodies and how to have sex. Although it does get a little more than just heated in the office with the three of them.

This was a very funny story that had me bursting at the scenes with laughter. I can’t imagine being a doctor teaching two gorgeous men how to have sex. Not to mention getting turned on by the sight of what is happening. It was a blast to read but it really needed to give me more at the ending. I want to hear more about how these two gorgeous men make it in their relationship, not to mention where Justin fits into the whole thing.

PERFECT by Jn Olsen ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

Seeing your favorite action hero on the screen…What could be more perfect? Will’s about to find out. Two gorgeous men, one an actor and the other in heat. I think that is a perfect word for how Will is when he is with Tom.

It was a very cute little story but for me it was missing way to much to be perfect. It was like going in the middle of a story. There was no beginning and no ending for me. I needed more to make it an actually hot story for me.

CHIMERA AIR by Taylin Clavelli ♥♥ 2 Hearts

An airline entirely staffed by gay people…Where the customer isn’t always right… Lots of sexy men on an airplane that has a bit of major kink to it.

I am not to sure about this story at all. It was more of a porn movie then an actual story. I can’t say that I had a blast with it, although I did have a turned on effect from them all getting hot and heavy. However that was just it a twist to this story. It was bizarre and over very quickly for me to get a true effect from it.

WIZARD’S SPAWN by L.V. Lloyd ♥♥♥♥ 3.5 Hearts

The magic in Aelith was dying. The only way to restore it was for the King to marry and produce an heir. Why was he taking so long to choose a wife? The problem was that there are a lot of men that do not want women. Now this might be strange since I am a female, but I think it is just a bit hotter.

This story was not as easy for me to get into as many of the others. It took more of my time and focus trying to keep up with who is who and what is what. Although I have to tell you that it was even hotter than I thought it would be. When the king meets the wizard, the council thinks it is to challenge, but that is not what they get. When are they going to figure out that men don’t have to marry to have a baby as funny as it sounds. I had a blast reading it and will have to check out the rest of L.V. Lloyd’s books out.

THE LAST APPOINTMENT by Louise Lyons ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

Dr. Glen Wright loves his young male patients – sometimes a little too much. When handsome Martin Reynolds visits him with a rather personal problem, Glen finds he can’t keep his hands to himself… Martin wants to know why he can’t have sex with his girlfriend and it must have been quite a surprise to find out the true reason.

This was a blast to read but a bit strange. I had a difficult time not laughing my ass of with it. It would definitely turn a straight man on to be played with like Glen did with Martin, although most doctors don’t make an examination go quite so hot. It was a fun and quick story that had me with the first paragraph. Although I wished it was a bit longer with more of a story to it.

OVERALL

These were really cute short stories that will catch your attention and have you wanting more than just a taste. They were a blast to read, some more than others. It gives you sexy men, special fun times, passionate sexual kinks, excitement and a bit of weirdness. I must admit though that they were all missing something to make them perfect for me. I would recommend reading this anthology if you want a quick, quirky and fun short stories. Trust me you will have a blast reading them. It gives you some funny stories and some stories that will have your heart strings breaking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing anthology! 19 December 2014
By Alina Popescu - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This has been one of the best anthologies I’ve read so far. I love stories that tackle the science fiction, the supernatural in all its shape and sizes, and add a healthy dose of man on man loving to it! All the stories of this anthology are so unique and different that you can’t help being surprised, or taken aback, and certainly you will be entertained. Yet although some of these stories are fun and light, others will bring you to tears.

I couldn’t really pick favorites this time around. Some have been special to me though because they tugged on some special strings. I’ve been a Justin Gaylord fan since the very beginning, when Taylin and Lily told me of their stories, then they game me small bits (they are cruel like that), so I was so happy to finally read the whole story! He’s just amazing and his inner dialogue is to die for.

Jonas I’ve always found an interesting character, but Asta Idonea’s A Whale of a Time brought an interesting new spin on this Biblical story for the high-school student who still remembers the Romanian play inspired by it. And The Gift by Frostina? She’d warned me it was short, but how someone could sketch such compelling characters in less than 3000 words and link their lives in such a beautiful, heartbreaking way, that’s just amazing. Great debut for her!

These are however special mentions because of very personal aspects, I honestly enjoyed each and every story of this mind boggling collection that will test your grasp of reality. I strongly recommend you go get your copy right now and start reading!

4.0 out of 5 stars My Rating: 4 of 4 Stars (Based on Short&Light Read Category) 20 December 2014

Just like the blurb warned readers of, all sense of logic goes out the door after just one story in this anthology. A Likely Story may be the title but truly, it really should have been: unlikely. Thing is, it is the illogical and sometimes bizarre stories that made this one of the most entertaining read I have had in ages. Entertaining in the sense that one story made me laugh out loud and say: ridiculous; the next sent me to sobbing tears I was blubbering; the third sent me to wonder and say: wth?; one had me laughing out loud I startled even myself but I also wanted a copy of the DVD! and the rest, well the rest just got more bizarre and weird and strange but all in a good and magical way it left me actually wanting for more, especially when it involved one of my quirkiest need-to-read-genre: mpreg. Oh yes, I am smiling smiling smiling here... heheheee

I won't bother reviewing each and every story for it would take a whole page and more as I have a lot to say and may ramble. This anthology is quite the collection and checked a lot of boxes for me. Written by numerous authors, some in collaboration, most not; some I love and are familiar with while the rest were first time encounters, these were such great reads all. I agree, some were really strange but keeping in mind that that is exactly what the theme of this anthology is all about, I had absolutely no problem. What I did was just devour this book!

Another great anthology to add to my increasing collection. hmmmm and its mostly from WIP ... makes me think :D
