Product Description

You’re The Lights...

Sebastian had one rule.

No women on the back of his bike. Period.

The one time he broke that rule, he killed the woman that was carrying his child.

Then comes Baylee Roberts. She makes Sebastian want to break every single rule he’d ever implemented. Hell, but she even makes him consider that dreaded H word. A helmet.

To My...

Baylee Roberts innocently walked into her bathroom never expecting that she’d find a man in there. It is her bathroom after all, and she lives alone.

From the instant he placed his hat on her head to protect her from the sun, Baylee’s mind becomes filled with thoughts of a certain biker.

She really shouldn't go there. There’s no telling what kind of dangerous things he does for The Dixie Wardens MC.

Siren...

Nothing is ever as easy as it should be. Their relationship’s one of them.

Baylee’s brother is a cop. Baylee’s father is a cop. Which inevitably means that Baylee’s going to have certain hang-ups about being with a man like himself.

Sebastian has a lot on his plate with his busy job as a firefighter, a single father, and the vice president of The Dixie Wardens MC.

Not enough, though, to keep him away from Baylee.
When a series of arsons rattle their hometown and puts Sebastian’s life on the line, Baylee finally realizes the only fire Sebastian can’t put out is the one inside her heart.

First book I have read from this author and I love it the style of writing is easy and effortless to read the pages come alive with humour and drama.

Baylee runs into the cocky Sebastian in her own bathroom there is an instant connection between the two of them, Sebastian becomes all alpha male on her from the instant their eyes connect while she likes what she sees she is an independent lady. Thru the weeks following their first meet they get to know each other the more Baylee tries to deny her feelings the more she becomes involved. Baylee and Sebastian are the perfect couple and 4 year old Johnny will give you a laugh or two.
Great read I laughed I cried and laughed a little more.

4.0 out of 5 stars There was so much that I liked but one niggle that spoilt my enjoyment 15 October 2014

I am, unusually for me, torn while writing the review for this one.
There was so much that I liked but one niggle that spoilt my enjoyment.
You’re The Lights…

No women on the back of his bike. Period.
The one time he broke that rule, he killed the woman that was carrying his child.
Then comes Baylee Roberts. She makes Sebastian want to break every single rule he’d ever implemented. Hell, but she even makes him consider that dreaded H word. A helmet.

Siren…

This is not a gritty, angst ridden MC book. For me it’s a funny romance where the incredibly hot alpha male just happens to be in an MC (oh, and a firefighter as well, swoon!) but that’s its charm. Never having read Lani Lynn Vale before I have to say she writes funny, sassy heroines but with a real quality that makes them endearing. Baylee holds her own and gives as good as she gets but her clumsy factor makes her the ‘real girl’ who you could know, not just a character. Sebastian is just yummy, an alpha through and through, handsome, hot, single dad, firefighter, VP in his MC club – did I mention Swoon??!!??

The book is written from dual POV and I loved the little quotes at the start of each chapter.

Don’t fall in love with men and their devil penis magic. – Note to self.
This isn’t a bakery. I don’t sugarcoat sh*t. – Why Sebastian pi**es Baylee off.
You flipped the b*tch switch, so buckle up and enjoy the ride, a**hole! – Text from Baylee to Sebastian
It’s better to lose a lover than to love a loser, a**hole, b*stard, lying, son of a c*ck wh*re. – Life lesson.

The inventive swearing and the humour made this a quick, easy romp of a book – add in the hotness factor and it’s a good coffee time book.
The author does have a way with a story and I enjoyed it but my niggle is the editing and that drove me demented. The tenses change on a regular basis and while I can let typos go, especially in an ARC, this spoilt it for me. Many will read and not notice, many will read and be able to overlook but I struggled with this.
Is it a good story? Yes
It’s funny and sweet and hot but it loses a star for the editing ~ I can’t be honest in my thoughts and not comment on that……

1.0 out of 5 stars Yeah, no. 21 November 2014

I like to give positive reviews even if I don't personally like the book, but this one was just horrible. The author would switch perspectives frequently in the same sentence (start with first person, go to third person, then back to first), and at first I let it go as a mistake, but after the ninth or tenth time, I just couldn't handle it. Then, the story just had too many problems with too many quick solutions (usually the h just bowing down to the "H", and I use that term loosely) and I personally don't like books like that. If you want to have angst, that's fine, if you want to have a happy romance, that's fine too, but don't mix the two.

Then there's the characters...they start out with great chemistry, and the h has a backbone, but then they get together, their relationship fizzles, and she just lets him do whatever, say whatever, act however he wants. If my significant other EVER came to my job, while I was doing my job, and cussed me out for it, you bet he would be leaving with his balls tied around his neck. But our "h"? No, she cried and agrees with him that she was being selfish! And when the tables are turned and he actually gets hurt, she's expected to just stand by and fawn all over him. Also, she thinks it's SO funny when he calls her "his bit*h" so much that his son starts to call her that.

There's just to many things wrong with this book that I wish I hadn't read it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Story and Characters Weren't Fully Realized 3 December 2014
By abbysbooknookie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
** spoiler alert ** For Lights to My Siren, I'd probably rate it more like a 1.5 and that .5 was only because of two reasons. I found it interesting that the heroine, Baylee, was both ADHD as well as having a disease I never heard of called Weelbrand's disease. Apparently, if cut, the bleeding could be excessive. The other reason has to do with how the hero, Sebastian, after she tells him specifically about the ADHD was actually truly empathetic and didn't make her feel "bad" about something she had no control over.

Other than those two things, there's a lot of things about this book that did not work at all. First, in the beginning of the story, Baylee would make reference to secondary characters being part of FREE. I kept of reading the chapters up to the reference but couldn't find what FREE was. After a bit of sleuthing, I saw that the author had written a series of books about an MC called Freebirds aka FREE. So this was a bit confusing to me.

The other thing is that the relationship between the two characters didn't have any depth. Yes, there was sexual attraction, but it's not like they really got to know each other. Yet, based on a few hours spent here and there without any real conversation, one night of sex (albeit hot sex), Sebastian takes her to a place that's deeply personal to him.

Also, with Sebastian being a single father, you'd think a meeting between Baylee and his son, Johnny, would be some of significance; yet, it's glossed over in the book. In fact, the first time Johnny and Baylee are mentioned together is apparently after they already met and were on their way with Sebastian to have dinner with his friend.

There were also scenes in the book that didn't feel necessary to move the story along. I mean, what does a man zip tying his penis have to do with anything? How does Baylee getting attacked and threatened with rape add to the story? It only served as a vehicle for Sebastian and Baylee's brother, Lucas, to injure the man who hurt Baylee as a form of male bonding. Considering that Lucas is a cop, that didn't seem quite appropriate.

Then later on the story, it comes out that Sebastian runs some kind of underground fight club and that he used to fight himself. There were no hints of anywhere in this book prior to this. It came out of nowhere.

It mainly served as a catalyst for Baylee to realize that Sebastian's MC isn't as vanilla as she thought (especially since Sebastian wasn't forthcoming) and of course, emphasized that she really didn't know Sebastian that well to have any type of meaningful heart to hearts. The other thing that comes out is Sebastian's MC name, which is Shiva. Given the importance of road names for an MC, shouldn't this have come out sooner?

If the underground fight club is something that Sebastian was hiding all along, why couldn't that have been more incorporated in the story. That might have added something more to this relationship then the whole arson story arc, something for them to battle over? The end result of the arson story seemed to be more about Baylee rushing to Sebastian when he was hurt. However, Baylee was going to see Sebastian anyway, so then what was the point of the arson story?

For the most part, everything between Baylee and Sebastian was hunky dory up until she found out about the underground fight club. Even then, it didn't take long before she went to him. Considering their different backgrounds, there should have been more push and pull and there wasn't. They just fell into each other.

Overall, this book just didn't do it for me. The story nor the characters weren't fully realized.

4.0 out of 5 stars Once again, Lani wrote one heck of a HOT story! 6 October 2014
By Lauren (Romance Novel Giveaways) - Published on Amazon.com

Once again, Lani wrote one heck of a HOT story!

Sebastian is a different breed of alpha. In fact, I think he is one of the most alpha-alphas I have read. I honestly wasn't sure about him at first, with regard to whether or not I liked him due to his past actions (no spoilers here) but the rest of the story sealed it for me; I'm a Sebastian fan!

Baylee was great because, in spite of her physical conditions, she loved living life and did so on her own terms. Her conditions definitely added a unique element to the story and I eagerly read on to see how the story would progress.

The last few pages before the epilogue literally had me in tears. While I loved the whole story, it was really tied together within those pages.

Lani always incorporates family into her books, namely children, which is refreshing as it adds a "real" element to the story.

The ONLY only only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because of the proofreading issues throughout the book.

This is my 2nd Lani book, and I would absolutely, without hesitation, read ANY of her books! I am a HUGE Lani fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars I am finding it hard to explain what I encountered in this amazing love story 26 February 2015
By ~Nichole Hart ~ SPRR - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
When I have tears streaming down my face from emotions so deep that I can hardly put them into words, I know then that I’ve found a story that has touched me deeply. When I decided to give Lani Lynn Vale a chance and started this series it was because I had read the reviews of book one and saw that this was what I called a “Nic” proof book. There wouldn’t be any cheating or sex outside the hero/heroine. But what I found was so much more. This book was layered with energy that vibrated throughout. I am finding it hard to explain what I encountered in this amazing love story. Yes I’ll confess it has my favorite thing, insta-love. No the characters Sebastian and Baylee didn’t confess this love right away …it was more like lust but they were drawn to each other like nothing I’ve ever read before. I just loved though how this author took the time to bring these two together in a slow burning build of passion. They became a real couple and this story had so much more than their relationship going on. Baylee was a very strong heroine and had a very high stress job as a paramedic and also was dealing with two health disorders. Adhd and a bleeding disorder. and I loved how Lani brought so many details of Baylee’s job and these health issues into the storyline. It didn’t detract from the romance, it was enhanced because it showed how they worked together as a couple and how they had to overcome the obstacles that we all face in real life. Real that’s the word I’ve been looking for. This book had real issues and it had things that made this love story feel authentic. I loved Sebastian so much. He was strong, loyal, protective and possessive. He didn’t mince words or try to hid his feelings. He wasn't just the VP of the MC club, no he was a firefighter who saved lives and worked hard. He just laid it out there. He wasn’t one for flowery words but showed his feelings..his actions spoke for themselves.

His past as a Marine really spoke to my heart being a mother to a US Marine myself. But when he took Baley on a trip to visit some special friends… my heart broke. I learned something I feel ashamed to say I never knew before. Visiting the cemetery of lost heroes.. there’s a tradition. Simple coins. But profound meaning.

Nickels meant that the deceased and visitor to the grave attended boot camp together.
A dime meant that they served with the person in some capacity.
And a quarter, like the one Sebastian had just left, meant that they were with them when they’d died.

This part of the story just had me in tears and feeling so thankful for men like my son but also for the families and the loved ones left behind.

So Sebastion didn’t always speak the romatic words..he was all about doing, showing and claiming. But his actions were LOVE and it was so consuming how he loved Baylee. When this book had me gripping my kindle and holding my breath till I was dizzy..and gasping..I knew then without a doubt I’ve found an author that I have to have more of. I was totally enraptured and oh Sebastian has really taken my heart.

With any MC series there is going to be the brotherhood, the foundation of the club.

This had so many interesting and intense characters that Lani took the time to make me the reader want more..right now. I want Kettle’s story and I want Sterling’s and Trance. I haven’t looked at the next book but will be diving right in hoping it’s also safe for me. I was totally consumed by this amazing story and this author now has one girl who will be watching the name Lani Lynn Vale very carefully. Lani, I want perfect Alpha’s like Sebastian. Loyal, true and possessive. Write girl write.
OH …one last thing. From a girl born and raised in Louisiana, I really really loved the setting of this book being partly in my state.
Any body who loves a good loyal hero, sexy romance with suspense, passion and intrigue..along with an authentic reality type plot. Give this one a go..you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
