Product Description

"Gripping and heart wrenching."

Always and Forever

Ariana Skyee has been the center of Zane Anders’ world for years. They got together as a couple ten months ago, so Zane finally has the girl of his dreams. Life should be peachy.

But it isn’t.

Haunted by a shared secret that threatens to destroy their relationship and claim their sanity, Zane is on a one-man mission to prevent Ari from falling apart.

Then Commander Skyee drops the biggest bombshell of all and everything Zane has taken for granted about the future is shattered overnight.

Always and Forever: That’s what Zane has promised Ari. Keeping that promise is about to become the hardest thing he will ever do.

True Calling is an enthralling young adult science fiction fantasy romance series that has earned rave reviews from readers who enjoyed popular series like The Hunger Games, Divergent, Matched, The Selection, The 100, 1984, and it’s even been favorably compared to the movie Elysium. Set between two vastly different worlds (utopian vs. dystopian) and told from two different perspectives, this series will appeal to readers who enjoy any of the following genres: Teen and Young Adult, Science Fiction (soft), Dystopian, Romance, Fantasy, Paranormal or Supernatural, Urban Fantasy.

This novella is narrated solely from Zane Anders' point of view, and it depicts the events leading up to Ari's move to Planet Novo. This is NOT a follow on from where Beyond Reach, the second novel in the series, left off. This relays events prior to True Calling, the first novel, however, I recommend reading it after Beyond Reach and before Destiny Rising to maximize reading enjoyment.

This series is written in US English. I recommend reading it in the following order:

True Calling
Beyond Reach
Light of a Thousand Stars
Destiny Rising

Full Series bundle also available.

This is Zane’s book. He is Ariana’s forgotten first love who was left behind on Earth because he had a heart condition. Only perfect specimens of humanity and of course twisted politicians were allowed to emigrate to Nova.
He describes their early relationship—she was besotted with him and he had to restrain himself to keep his promise to her Dad. Zane is trustworthy honest and sensible. Also he and Ariana form such a close link that they can read each other’s minds and send telepathic messages even over the 1200 miles to Nova, which after all, is only 3/20 of the Earth’s diameter. Doesn’t it seem stupid that when the big disaster which damages Earth is caused by a meteor strike, the author just goes and hangs an even bigger planet-killer in the sky?
The afterthought novella ends with Ari’s family driving away from Zane. It doesn’t really add anything to the plot line, just deepens the angst and makes the reader pull for Zane.

Oh my God, I feel like my heart is bursting out of my chest after reading this Novella. Amazing but so bittersweet. My heart breaks for Zane and Ari. A must read for fans of this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Love ZANE 20 April 2016

Zane has been in love with Ariana for years, she is his world and he would do anything for her. They have been together for ten months now and Zane couldn't be happier, he finally has the girl of his dreams, but life always throws something at you, right? Of course, and on Zane and Ariana's case; Life has thrown more than one obstacle at them. Something bad happened, something that both of them have had to kept a secret from everyone and now Ariana is falling apart. Zane is trying is best to prevent that because he has promised her: Always and Forever and he will do anything to keep that promise.

Then, the worst comes when Commander Skyee drops a bomb and will destroy their future forever. What will Zane do? He will still try to do anything possible to be together with Ariana again, whatever it takes, how long it takes.

I loved Zane before and loved him even more after reading this novella. Ariana in the other hand? Ah, this girl keeps getting on my nerves. We also get see Ariana's move to Novo and how that affected her, and I don't get how she just forgot all of that? Anyway, I really enjoyed reading this novella and I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.
4.0 out of 5 stars Young Love, Passion, Sweet and Fulfilling 7 July 2015

I was sent an eBook ARC of this novella from the author after signing up to participate in her ARC list. I had previously already read the first two books in the True Calling series: True Calling and Beyond Reach.

This novella is told from the POV of Zane and it takes place before the events in the first book, True Calling. If you haven't read the first 2 books in the series then I would highly recommend you wait to read any further of this review so as not to spoil anything.

In this novella we finally get to see a glimpse into the relationship that Zane and Ari had before her memory was wiped, when Zane is 17 and Ari just turns 15. When we first meet Ari in True Calling she has no memory of this strange boy named Zane that she sees glimpses of in her dreams. Then she starts to hear his voice in her head. It turns out that Zane and Ari were deeply in love while they both lived on Earth, but then Ari gets sent to the planet Nova with her family and her mind is wiped of certain memories, unbeknownst to her, as part of protocol of all of those traveling to Novo. When we meet Zane our heart breaks for the love he lost and the weight of carrying around all of the feelings he still has for Ari even though it's now unrequited love.

This novella was just what I like to read about. Young love and passion. It was sweet and fulfilling and a tear jerker. A perfect addition to the series!

Favorite Quotes:
"You deserve so much more. And I promise to spend the rest of my life giving you everything you deserve."

"I love you so much. And from what I've seen - with my parents and yours - love isn't all hearts and flowers. It's always being there for each other and helping one another face the crap life throws our way. So yeah, I'm not going anywhere. I'm with you, now and always."

1.0 out of 5 stars ... give credit is due and even if I don't like a book I've read 24 November 2016

I usually give credit is due and even if I don't like a book I've read, I at least give a 4. Mainly because even if I don't like the book doesn't mean it's not a good book to others as long as it's well written.
As much as I've enjoyed this series up to now, I have to say.. paying 3 dollars for a book that is a little over 100 pages is not like me but I thought hey, I don't want to miss anything aND for 3 bucks there mus of be something good in it. Well, I wouldn't have missed it, and there and most of it has already played out in the previous books and what hasn't is covered in the last book. If you're looking for a sneak peek of the last book, that is all you will get . A very small peek and that small peek will be revealed in book 5. I was really disappointed.
5.0 out of 5 stars I absolutely loved this series 9 July 2016

I absolutely loved this series; I was hooked from the first chapter and could not stop reading the books until I finished them. I really enjoyed reading from the perspective of Cal, Ari and especially Zane. The stories had so many surprises and kept me guessing what would happen next. The characters were multi layered and interesting; not one dimensional at all. I would definitely read more books from this author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Craving Destiny Rising Even More Now! 6 May 2015
By Grace Verb - Published on

This is just what I needed to tide me over for Destiny Rising, but it also has made me even more desperate for it! We learn that Ari has had a traumatic experience (which she probably lost from the Vita and nostalgia elixir)... is this hinting that the shocking cliffhanger from Beyond Reach was about this memory????
Amazing story that will make you even more desperate for the next book!
